Thank you and be safe!

Please look over the bag charm and let me know thoughts. I ordered one for my mom, and one for me. Both came in same day. One appears to be authentic and one does not. First 3 pics are of the one I believe to be authentic. The letters are raised, the outlet tag is marked through the way they do when they mark them down, etc. Last 3 pics I believe to be fake. The letters are not raised, the leather looks off, and the coach embossing on back has the color just slightly off from the leather. Finally, a side by side to show the difference. Thanks in advance, although I'm going to be disappointed if I can't even buy an outlet charm without fear of it being fake!!

Hello,

This is my first post. Please forgive me if I make a mistake in forum rules.
Can you please tell me if this is fake?

Please advice,
G.

I'd like to see a photo of the back of the turnlock plate used on the flap, the piece with 4 prongs holding it on. A straight-on photo of the front of the bag from a little farther back, and of the entire width of the inside of the bag from above showing the full width of the inside pocket would also help.

I've only seen 2 solid T plant prefix creeds, and they've both been from Costa Rica and for 5 years later than this one ,1994 seems much too early for Coach to have gone as far down the alphabet as "T" when assigning plant codes. They didn't even get to "S" until 1995. That's a big red flag. The proportions of the top handle seem "off" too, and there's a detail in the creed photo that shouldn't be in a genuine bag.

Do you own the bag, and how long ago did you buy it? If recently and from an online site, please post the listing's URL, read Post number One in this thread for a list of the details we need to see and know.

Whateve needs to take a look at this one too, she's got a good record of what details were changed on the Court Bag over the years and exactly when they were changed, she'll probably find more problems. It seems wrong in several ways to me but please post the photo and wait for more opinions.

Did you order them both from the Factory Outlet Sale site? And at the same time? If you still have the price tags, please post photos of both of them top to bottom. And was a receipt included and can you post photos with any personal information covered up?

If you bought them from some other site, please post the link(s).

My apologies, both bought from ebay. First 4 pics are of the one I believe to be legit. Link: https://m.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-Ke...496334?txnId=1563064067013#vi__app-cvip-panel

This is another question I hope Whateve can answer, she's looked at the Haring items and also bought a few.

It COULD just be a case of the plant trying to save time or money by changing a few steps during production, but I don't have any Haring items to compare yours to.

Thanks. There's no question the two are different. I guess the question is, is it a production issue or are these fakes as well. It amazes me how much is faked and I don't know where so many people get access to the fakes to sell them.

Keychains and purse charms are usually easy and cheap to fake, and there are probably thousands of websites mostly based in China that sell them openly. Older keychain styles, especially the enameled metal ones, were very cheap to copy and fake and we used to find websites selling them for as little as 2 dollars each if you bought in volume, usually 10 or more. The leather ones are a bit more fiddly but the fakers have at least 15 years experience in copying the leather ones too. High turnover and high profit margins make selling the fakes a very attractive proposition, so there are always plenty of sleazebags willing to import and distribute them.

As for access, that's never a problem. Some fakers just copy from photos, some will buy a genuine one and copy that (and use the photos of the genuine version and even the receipt on their websites), and some probably are made in the same factories as the genuine items but find their way out the back door once the bosses have gone home - or sometimes with the bosses' help and collusion. Making fakes is easy especially in countries that have years of experience doing it.

Thanks for getting back to me so very fast! I truly thank you for your valuable information. I do not own this purse. I was thinking in buying it from ebay. This is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292543523827?ul_noapp=true

It's fake. There aren't a lot of pictures that show the details we need, but there is one glaring detail they got wrong (besides the creed). In 1994, the edging on the top of the purse under the flap went straight across and continued onto the sides, in one piece. If you look at the picture of the side of the purse, you can see that the edging across the top stops when it meets the edging around the front. After 1999, Court purses were made this way, but before that, the edging on the front would have been covered by the top edging, not the other way around. It's hard to explain so I hope you can understand. Here is one that is correct for 1994.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-9870...ag-Purse-GUC/132313356476?hash=item1ece7d98bc You can see it clearly in the last picture. The seller of the bag you asked about has the picture cropped so you almost can't see it.

In my opinion, both are authentic. The differences are just the result of one being stamped deeper than the other. I've seen variations in keychains before.
