Could you please confirm the authenticity of this twin clutch? I have it, not listed for sale.

When were those made? 1970s? It has the anchor stamps on the strap clasps.

Thanks!

It's authentic. One catalog picture I have is from 1986. I don't know how long it was made. I've seen anchors on bags made in 1988-89.

Is this an authentic Coach Bag?
This bag is not currently listed for sale. I was told this is a Coach School Bag but it is smaller than other Coach bags I have been told were called Coach School bags. IMG_3147ed.JPG IMG_3150ed.JPG IMG_3154ed.JPG IMG_3157ed.JPG IMG_3163ed.JPG IMG_3172ed.JPG IMG_3174ed.JPG IMG_3176ed.JPG
Dimensions
Length 13 inches
Height 8.5 inches
Width 1.5 -2 inches
It has the Coach cartouche but it does not have any registration number. I have attached photographs.

I'm pretty sure it's genuine although I have several pictures identified as School Bags but with different details of the inside pocket and the long strap mountings. Coach may have changed details several times along the way while keeping the name and same basic design. This might be an earlier version of the 1985-86 School Bag style 9695 since a bag from either of those years would have had a serial number. It's not in the early 1980 to 1983 catalogs so it might be 1980 or earlier. Whateve might know, I hope she can take a look.

Here's a thumbnail of Coach's 1986 catalog page, this one looks like it has just one main compartment - the "trimmer in scale" in the description makes me think this version was slimmer and a bit smaller than the earlier one:

I received this bag in today to sell and I wanted to confirm if it was authentic. It is in my possession. In my research I’ve seen other bags and the creeds for this style and do not have an N stamped on their creeds as this one does. I am framiliar with the X but not the N stamp. Can I get an expert opinion? Thank you.

It's fine. The "N" is either Nordstrom's or Neiman Marcus's mark.

I'm sorry, if there are no Coach markings, there is no proof it was made by Coach. I've seen generic copies of Coach bags. I agree, it looks like they got every detail right. It's not an old enough style to just have a Coach stamp without a creed.
I have been meaning to comment on this post. I was glad to see this being addressed as I had the same question. About 2 months ago, I came across a very worn brown leather bag at a thrift shop. It appeared to be a Monterey Hobo, which you may remember I have in black. But no inner pocket with the creed or any hint on country of manufacture or brand! And it didn't look like it had been removed. I must have stood there for 10 minutes pouring over it. Thanks for confirming that there are unbranded replicas out there. I thought it was ironic that it was a style that I owned, and was not familiar with before I bought it last year.
I know early Coach styles were immitated by major brands, includingJC Penney and Laura USA, but I had not seen any well made, unbranded leather replicas. I have seen alot of crap leather and pleather fakes.
