The facebook seller is
Jamie Lynn DeAndre

Let her know it's fake and see if she does the right thing by ending the listing.
I have to commend the Facebook seller!

Generally, I have a strong disdain for Facebook marketplace listings because there's usually no oversight and too often, sellers either know they have fakes and don't care or even if they don't know an item is fake, they never end their listing.

I admit to contacting the seller and she ended her listing in order to "take it to an actual certified authority and have it checked out. Thanks for the info though."

Who she considers a "certified authority" I don't know but I'm impressed by her integrity in ending the listing.

Good morning and Happy 1st Day of Spring! Well, I'm sure it's spring somewhere, but we have another nor'easter coming to New England... like 25" of snow that were dumped on us just last week wasn't enough. Anyway, I'd very much appreciate if someone takes a look at this bag in what looks like Mocha color. Thank you in advance!

OT but this is appropriate based on your weather comments. (I'm not sure where you are, @catthecurious but it must be in my general area. In the Boston area and we've been slammed with weather this month too.)

A FB friend posted a self-written spring-related Haiku, with comments and changes suggested by others.

Today's Haiku:
Cherry blossom time.
Earth bejeweled white and pink.
Why am I sneezing?

Better last line suggestion from one of his east coast friends:
our version in Boston--last line is "Why is it snowing?"

Looks like we in the mid Atlantic are out of luck this time— 18” of spring snow on its way. I’m wondering if someone can authenticate this Kensington bag for me and also if anyone knows the difference between this and the Dowel Field Bag 9940? Thanks!

Please authenticate this Utility Rogue purchased on ebay. Right off the bat, I noticed some differences between the bag I received and the bag shown in the listing. The bag in the listing had the key hood and the tag on different sides of the handles, this bag had them on the same. No big deal, but first clue. The bag in the listing has a thick card tag, while this bag has a thin paper tag. I do not recall if the Utility was sold in other stores that would explain the thin tag. But the thing that is getting me the most is the fact that the "made in" tag is sewn inside the suede outer pockets. There is no white tag inside the pocket. I have A LOT of Rogues, and I cannot think of one that has the "Made in Tag" sewn into the suede. That being said....I just ordered the Ivy Rogue with the print interior direct from Coach and I can find NO tags at all. No "Made in" tag, nor the white tag that is normally sewn inside the pocket.

Lastly, I purchased this on my phone. When I checked sellers feedback, it showed 1 feedback as seller within the past 6 months. When I now check it on the computer, it shows 6 feedbacks, one of which was a Utility Rogue....using the same photos as the one I bought....If I go back to my phone app and check their feedback, still shows 1 feedback.
I’m not saying anything about authenticity wise, but I just wanted to let you know I just bought and received the black rogue 25 last week and it has the tag sewn into the leather pockets on the outside also. I have 3 other rogues and they aren’t but that one is. I thought it was strange too. My guess is that is the way the started doing the ones made in 2018 like mine is.

Several problems, maybe not big ones - the creed photo is barely readable and it's almost impossible to see the small details we need. However the Underscore under the "No" looks slightly bigger in the bag you're asking about than it does in a photo of a genuine briefcase in my files from the same plant, month and year. see the photos below, 5279 is the bag being questioned, 5266 is the known genuine one. It MIGHT just be the difference in lighting but other opinions are welcome. The rest of the creed and serial number seem ok.

The only information about the bag's condition is "used not perfect refer to photos no returns" but the pictures aren't clear enough to show if there are any problems or what the details of the problems might be. The picture of the back of the bag is out of focus too - strange that the other pics taken from almost the same distance away AREN'T. I'd also question what kind of products were used on the bag to give it that shiny black finish.

As for the differences between 5279 and 9940, the biggest difference is size. The catalog pics are from 1995 and 1994 respectively:

Good luck with your next Snowmaggeddon!

Thank you very much, whateve, I was hoping so!

BeenBurned, love the Haiku! I'm in Southern NH, and I know you bostonians are expecting more of "white gold" - as those cynical plow guys call it - this time... my mom and my in-laws all live in Boston.

@Hyacinth, thank you, we DO need luck around here! Preferably a warm one - to melt some snow...

Here's the picture a friend sent me from Europe with a hashtag #whenyouresickofwinter:

Hi, thanks for the reply. I was able to speak with a forum member that bought this bag direct from Coach and she confirmed hers had the tag sewn in the suede as well. Absolutely everything looked legit to me except that tag, but turns out, that is correct. It's so stressful trying to but these bags used when they'll randomly change something like this!

Hi all I'm new here I recently purchased this but after comparing it to my older coach wallet I'm pretty sure that this is a fake!

A second opinion would be appreciated.
Welcome!

I don't know how old your "older" Coach wallet is but you really can't compare items from completely different eras. Additionally, the crossgrain leather on this wallet is very different from smooth buffalo or cowhide.

That said, I am not familiar with the style of wallet and although I don't see any obvious red flags in the pictures from the listing, I'm not familiar with the style and haven't seen a wallet with the "Coach" logo placed vertically on the side of the front as is shown on your wallet. This is NOT an authentication; just a statement that I'm not familiar with the logo location. Another concern is that every other wallet with the logo in the font shown on your wallet has "New York" embossed underneath Coach in at least one of the locations. Your wallet doesn't have New York in either place.

I'd like to see a couple more pictures. Please post a photo of the cash pocket and lining and if there's a made in label, please post that.

This only serves to further reinforce what we've said for years. "The most consistent thing about Coach is its inconsistency."
