Hello Authenticators,

Item: Vintage Coach Legacy Brown Leather Crossbody Saddle Bag Purse Handbag #9988
Listing number: 597698077
Seller: VarietyVintageUS
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/597698077/vintage-coach-legacy-brown-leather

Comments: Please authenticate this Coach bag. TIA.

The creed has slight differences from those in my files. I don't feel comfortable with it.
FWIW, I see the differences in the creed that VarietyVintageUS's bag has vs. every other 1996 creed from the B plant.

@SEWDimples - if you're in communication with the seller, you might refer her here.

I agree.

I'm posting a genuine 1996 B-plant creed from a style 9014 from just a few months before the date code in the fake. The second red creed is one that I saved on May 5, 2017 with the same incorrect details, the third is the tan bag under discussion (note the differences not just in the "No" but also in the fonts of the creeds and of the Coach logos) followed by pics of the front flap stitching and the end of the inside pocket zip of the questionable tan bag.

Please help me ID and authenticate this bag I bought from a thrift store, I have no idea of what style it is or if if it’s authentic. This bag measures roughly 9.5” wide, 6” high and 2” deep.

Thanks @BeenBurned and @Hyacinth. I appreciate your feedback. I never contacted the seller, I just liked the bag because the color looks so amazing, but I try to get my bags authenticated before I buy them.

Please help me ID and authenticate this bag I bought from a thrift store, I have no idea of what style it is or if if it’s authentic.

Please read Post number One in this thread - we need the measurements of the bag and in this case we need photos of both the back, and of the front of the bag with the flap open so we can see if there are any other pockets. It would also help to see a photo of one of the sides of the bag so we can see how the strap is attached. There's no way to identify the bag without those details.

I’m sorry, I just updated the post

Thanks!

It's a genuine Pocket Purse, style 9755 and made in the early 1990s. Here's Coach's pics from 1987:

Awesome!! Now I feel better for paying $5 for it!!! But let me ask you about the code, I read it was supposed to be xxx-xxxx but this one is xxxx-xxx.

What you read about the codes is only partly correct, the serial number format has had major changes at least half a dozen times in Coach's history. Please be sure the information you're using is accurate and complete.

It's VERY important that you read and SAVE the six Salearea Coach guides posted here because Ebay is removing all these Guides permanently. The removal has already started and these could disappear at any time. Save all six Coach guides and then read the two on Creeds and on Serial Numbers. They will explain Coach's serial number formatting in detail.

Hello! I have to admit to lurking for some time now as the info you guys provide is fantastic and has helped me massively! I took a risk recently purchasing a bag online with limited photos (I know....) that I would greatly appreciate some advice on before I start rehabbing (I'm still within the return date if I need to). I've included the photos from the website which I think are a fair representation as well as a couple taken by myself now that I am in possession of the bag. Happy to take more photos if it would help. Measurements: 10in x 8in x 4in.
