Comments: somehow I’m not sure about this one- the sewn in tag, the plastic bag... any thoughts? It feels a little stiff somehow as well, but I’m not sure if it’s all in my head.

It's authentic.

Good evening Authenticators. Here is a bag I found for $3 at an estate sale. I think it is a Companion bag? Dimensions are 10.5 x 6.25 x 3. I tried multiple times to get a pic of the serial number, but I could not get the light at the right angle, the stamp is so faint. But the number appears to be 278-5707. When I found this bag, it was in sad shape, so I gave it a bath and an overall polish. The original color was bone/ivory, but now it is more beige. Hope that doesn't make it in-authentic (but doing the rehab was lots of fun!!). Thank you.P1010354.JPG P1010355.JPG P1010356.JPG

Oh. That’s too bad!
But thanks so much for the quick response!
Should I let the seller know?
You can report it to etsy by clicking on the report button near the bottom of the page. Say the number is the wrong format and font, the dash is in the wrong place. Some sellers are nice when you tell them; others get mad, so it always a risk to inform the seller.

ETA: I think the seller knows it is fake. If you look at her other Coach listings, the creeds are clear and readable. This is the only listing, other than one that doesn't have a creed or interior picture, where it is impossible to see.

Good evening experts,
Came across this beautiful bag but I’m not sure about it because of the creed. Unfortunately the creed photo is not clear at all (the creed also looks very puffy...) I am hoping and hoping that it’s authentic but would like to know for sure. Thank you!

It's fake.

Seller FeelsFree

I agree that the seller probably knows (or believes) the bag to be fake.

I'd let the seller know and I'd also request (or demand) a return for refund. It's illegal to sell fakes and a seller's responsibility to verify authenticity prior to listing.

As for Whateve's suggestion to report to Etsy, I just want to say that like Poshmark, Etsy doesn't respond to reports of fakes.

Thank you whateve and BeenBurned for your insights.
I haven’t yet purchased the bag but I did ask for a shipping quote, so I thought I should let her know.
But having read your responses it does appear that the seller likely already knows it’s fake. I’ll let her know but also report it to Etsy (even though it might not do anything...)
Thanks again!!

I'd be curious and interested in hearing how she responds to you.
