I'd be curious and interested in hearing how she responds to you.

She wasn’t mean or rude about it. Here’s what she wrote in response to my message letting her know that the bag might not be authentic because of the creed:

“I did think that when I first looked at the creed. But I have seen so many fakes, and everything on this bag is so spot-on, the stitching, turn-lock, etc. I have this exact same bag in brown, and there isn't one stitch that makes me think it's fake. I honestly think that there was an error when the creed was printed. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks anyhow for you consideration and I'm sorry it didn't work out.”

It’s too bad because I really like the bag. Any idea what it’s called or what style number it is?

I didn't think you'd be rude. I was curious to learn whether the seller was honest enough to come here (or elsewhere) to verify what you'd told her or not.

Based on what she said, I'm guessing that she'd rather believe that the creed is a mistake.

Maybe she needs to hear more specific information. The INVALID serial number, 22096-08 is seen on many fake Coach bags and is completely wrong. Additionally, the font and printing on the creed is wrong. (There are other problems, but unless and until FeelsFree ends the listing and learns that her "spot on" bag isn't authentic, I can't recommend her.)

Perhaps referring her here might help.

There is absolutely no doubt it is fake. The font is incorrect as well. Even if the factory had made a mistake, they couldn't have switched fonts! The creed also says "This is a Coach bean bag." It should just say "this is a Coach bag." There are a few authentic bags that have the bean bag wording, but many more fakes, and this style isn't from the year or so when the mistake was made. I don't think this style was made when Coach was still using all numeric creed numbers. It was called a sidepack #9979.

Agree. I will refer her here so she can be more informed about her listings.
Thanks again.

I’ll let the seller know.
And thanks for identifying the bag!

Hi everyone!
Received a few bags from an aunt maybe 25-30 years ago, this is the only one out of the lot I'm having trouble authenticating. I'm planning on cleaning it up and requesting a new hang tag for it. I can't even seem to find a year or name for it. Would appreciate the expert help (can provide more pics if needed). Thanks!

First-timer here, desperately looking for a unique color 9755. Friends can you help with this one and confirm if it is indeed from the 70s? Hoping nobody steals it from me. TY

*edited: realizing this maybe isn't the pocket purse I'm actually looking for, the dinky looks smaller? will keep looking for the slightly larger penny pocket 9755*

Item: Vintage COACH Penny Flap Crossbody Bag Dinky dark green 70s EUC
Listing number: 142690626312

Comments:

It's actually from the early 1990s, between 1990 and 1993. It's genuine but I'm not sure if it's actually a shade of dark green. Sometimes Coach's black colors would fade over the years to a dark green or dark blue color. The inside of the bag usually gives a good idea of what the original color is. Wait for more opinions about the color.

There aren't any measurements but the permanent strap indicates it's a Dinky 9375 and measures about 9x5x1 inches, not a 9755 Pocket Purse which has a wider removable strap and an under-flap pocket like in the picture above and was about 9x5x2 inches. It was never called a Penny Pocket BTW. Which one are you looking for?

Please provide measurements as we request in Post number One in this thread, Thanks! It would also help to show a picture of one of the sides so we can see the strap and how it's attached.

Thanks so much for replying, really appreciate the help! Sorry about not including the measurements above, totally missed that in the pinned post. Here’s what I was able to gather.

Across bag left to right: 6.5 inches
Across bag from top to bottom: 5 inches
Side measurement (at largest part, pics attached): about 2.5 inches
Base: 3.25 inches wide
Strap length: about 51 inches

Thank You!

Thanks very much, that's a big help!

It's a genuine Hadley Zip, style number 9935 and probably made in or around 1993. Here's Coach's catalog page from Spring 1994:
