First-timer here, desperately looking for a unique color 9755. Friends can you help with this one and confirm if it is indeed from the 70s? Hoping nobody steals it from me. TY

*edited: realizing this maybe isn't the pocket purse I'm actually looking for, the dinky looks smaller? will keep looking for the slightly larger penny pocket 9755*

It's actually from the early 1990s, between 1990 and 1993. It's genuine but I'm not sure if it's actually a shade of dark green. Sometimes Coach's black colors would fade over the years to a dark green or dark blue color. The inside of the bag usually gives a good idea of what the original color is. Wait for more opinions about the color.

There aren't any measurements but the permanent strap indicates it's a Dinky 9375 and measures about 9x5x1 inches, not a 9755 Pocket Purse which has a wider removable strap and an under-flap pocket like in the picture above and was about 9x5x2 inches. It was never called a Penny Pocket BTW. Which one are you looking for?

The bag in the eBay link is a Dinky 9375. I would hesitate to call it green without seeing it in person. It could be faded black.

The 9755 Pocket Purse is slightly larger than the Dinky, and has a wider, detachable strap:
ETA: Due to widespread confusion about the correct name of the Pocket Bag 9755, anyone looking for one should include the word "penny" in their search terms. There is currently a vintage red "penny" listed on eBay that does not have the word "pocket" or "9755" in the title.

I have a bag that I thought was a Collegiate bag. I don’t think so. Additionally, the serial number is like a run on sentence...see photos. The back of the turnlock looks “different”. Please assist me in identification and authentication of this bag. Thanks in advance.

Ooh, red! It's an authentic compartment bag #9850. The turnlock looks fine. Sometimes they made that mistake in the number.

THank you for the clarification! I thought it was what I was looking for but turns out it's not. I am actually looking for the 9755 preferably in green! What about this one? The seller just PM'd me the creed/serial. Hope I attach this correctly. This one looks green to me, but will take your advice. Listing has measurements. Looking to buy today!

Thank you too! Sorry I don't know how to respond to more than one poster at a time. But I just listed another bag above that (maybe?) is green and a 9755. Do you think this one is an authentic green 9755?
