Just because you can't find something on line doesn't mean it's fake. A lot depends on where and HOW you're searching. And just because you CAN find a similar style someplace online doesn't mean it OR the one you're asking about is genuine. It's the details of the bag itself that prove whether or not it's authentic.

I don't have the exact name, probably something like Kristin Op Art Convertible Satchel, and it looks completely genuine, made in 2009.

ETA - GMTA!

It's probably one of the Op Art Sateen Satchels from this May 2010 Wayback page, unfortunately the links to the individual pages aren't working.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question and adding the link. I have been doing a lot of reading and studying(esp this site) ways to attempt or at least make an educated guess on the authenticity of a coach. The bag looked real enough but the only thing I couldn't find any info on was the style #. The ones I did find didn't match what was on this bag so that's why I was concerned and since I don't know enough I knew I needed to ask. I know there are some pretty good fakes out there and sometimes the only giveaway is the wrong style number. I'm in need of some "new" new to me anyway purses and really wanting some Coach. I'm sure I'll have more questions very soon Thank you again

Hi there! Interested in purchasing a vintage (80s/90s) Willis in black. Found a few of these on Poshmark/Ebay. Would love to know if authentic and which (if any) are 80s/90s made in the USA verified. I'm also open to any other listings with tag attached and in good/great condition. Thank you in advance!

1- genuine, from 1999
2- even though the seller lists a serial number, there's no creed photo. It can't be firmly authenticated and we do NOT recommend buying a highly faked style without a good serial and creed photo, ESPECIALLY not from Poshmark, who almost always refuse to give refunds for fakes or to remove them from their site.
3- genuine from 1994
4 - genuine, from 2000
The locations of manufacture are listed on the creeds. Numbers 1, 3 and 4 were made in the US or US Territories.

Willises weren't even made in the 1980s, the style was introduced in 1993. If any seller claims they have a Willis older than that, don't believe them.

(sorry my quoted posts are not showing up-this is in response to whateve's post #27780)

Oh no! Sorry about that! (and hope you weren’t tempted by anything…unless you wanted to be lol)

Re: (2) Inauthentic Coach Keychains-Not sure if I was successful in having them flagged/removed. I contacted TRR Friday via phone using the Authenticity Questions phone number/ext (which is the same as Customer Service one). I should back up and address your original concern whateve that you had hoped I hadn’t purchased the one keychain. I had. Call it morbid curiousity combined with the fact it was returnable (minus postage both ways and my time/materials). Upon receipt I would say it was even more obviously a problem-ie. poor quality jump rings, unintentionally mixed metals and the dust bag was just a generic one. I informed CS that not only my key chain but the other one were deemed inauthentic and cited this forum thread/post page. She issued a refund label for my key chain saying it would be reviewed upon receipt and I asked her 2x to have the one still listed reviewed also.

If I don’t notice any action on the live listing and/or they relist my returned one, I will write up the info and send it to them via email.

Again, thanks to you and everyone here for your help!

Thanks for keeping us informed. I wonder what they will say when they get it back. I don't have much hope they will remove the other fake or not relist the one you returned. Beenburned from this forum contacted them shortly after I authenticated them and didn't see any action after that. So we've got at least two sources telling them they were fake.

I also wrote to TRR TheRealReal informing them that they had 2 listings for very obvious fake Coach keychains and as you've noticed, not only were the listings not removed but after having emailed several days ago, I didn't get a response until 4:40 pm this afternoon and TBH, I'm NOT impressed. Both POS items are still shown as actively listed at $50 each.

If as "Crystal" states, they are forwarding "my" concerns to their authenticity team, the least an HONEST site would do is to remove or take the listings off-site until they've done their homework.

(And if anyone feels like forwarding a link to this post and the others, feel free.)

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your inquiry. Authenticity is the cornerstone of The RealReal. We staff in-house professionals including gemologists, horologists, art appraisers and apparel experts that ensure every item sold is 100% authentic and in beautiful condition.

All items are put through a multi-point, brand-specific, authentication process by a team of luxury experts guided by our Director of Authentication & Brand Compliance. During this inspection process, we validate appropriate brand markings, date codes, serial tags and hologram stickers as applicable. Each item passes through our strict authenticity test before it is curated into daily sales.

However, we have forward your concerns to our authenticy team.

Feel free to contact us if there is anything we else we may assist you with.

Thank you for doing this! I agree it's very disappointing they don't at least suspend an item for sale until the issue is resolved. I've seen a couple of items go in and out several times (not for authenticity). There seems to be a disconnect/delay between CS getting info and the appropriate department to taking action. You would think they would want to minimize returns and such, especially for simple reasons?!

I'm compulsive enough to watch and see what happens with these keychains though lol.

Again, thanks!
