Before you decide to do business with station_85, you might want to check her feedback history:

http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=station_85&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home

Going to chime in here, although i may live to regret it.

BB, i have great respect for you, Hyacinth, and Whateve. You provide an invaluable service to this community, using your own time and resources to do so. Am in awe of your combined knowledge.

That said, a comment on buying:

I have purchased from station_85. Have always gotten what i paid for--used bags, thoroughly described and pictorially documented.

Read through the toolhaus reviews. Lots of " it looked bigger in the pictures" or "color was different". Relatively few negs from high fb users.

If someone chooses to buy from a high volume retailer of used merchandise,
thereby choosing to pay whatever they pay, without checking pics, reading descriptions, what is a seller is to do? This one evidently offers full refunds on returns too. And doesn't seem to be selling fake?

Would seem obvious that such a high volume seller is unlikely to be offering fabulous deals on like new merchandise. It's used. It's old, or older. It's going cheap. Unless it's overbid.

Does anyone really expect immaculate, like-new from a thrift shop? More than occasionally, anyway?

It's this type of feedback, with its associated hits to a seller's account, which keeps me--

--and will keep me, barring a major-- (and highly unlikely)-- change in ebay's treatment of sellers, from ever selling there.

Having said that I'll add that i am sure some sellers do it better. But no seller seems safe from ignorant and/or malicious buyer behavior.

I have no connection, other than that of a past buyer, with station_85.

Again, with much respect and appreciation for you!

I'm not the least bit offended but I will comment.

I know and understand that when buying a preowned bag, you aren't going to get a new one. I get it! But I do expect that a seller would be honest in her depiction of the bag and its condition.

There are, indeed many buyers who don't look at measurements, don't read descriptions nor look at pictures carefully. Those buyers certainly should have done their own due diligence in learning about their potential purchase. In cases like, "I thought the bag was bigger than it is" when measurements were shown, or "I thought it would be a brown bag" when the description stated that it was black, those buyers are at fault.

However, in this case with this seller, it's known that she doesn't accurately describe her items. Many of her bags have been polished, waxed, dyed or otherwise send in a condition that isn't original to the bag nor disclosed that it was "rehabbed." And that's the type of feedback comment that you'll see many of.

And for the record, although she's a seller who sells enough Coach that she should know the obvious red flags of fakes or she should authenticate her items.

My own records indicate that I reported a fake in August, 2013 for a fake Coach bag with an always-fake serial number. There have been other fakes posted in the Coach subforum.

Others also comment on her inaccurate and/or embellished descriptions of condition:

I'm glad you've had good experiences with her but when a seller has as many unhappy buyers as this one, there's a problem with the seller, IMHO.

Item: Sale Half Off Rare Vintage Leather Coach Handbag Chestnut
Seller: roxann57
Wait for other opinions but I do think the bag is okay.

Her comment about the bag being authentic or ebay would pull it is BS. Does she realize how many fakes are listed and successfully sold?

In fact, roxann57 sold a fake Dooney, soon to be reported!
