Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

It was my listing. I removed it to make sure that I was being honest. My bag looks just like this bag. That's why I asked. "Crap" photos were not intentional. Thank you for your help.

I was able to find a cache of the previous listing and some of the pictures. Notice the differences? (If not, I can do side-by-sides)

The number on yours is a valid number. The problem is the font of the numbers and letters. I also remember the zipper looked wrong. Based on the date of the creed, it should have had a nylon zipper. Yours is also stamped a little too low on the pocket.

No, there's no database and in fact, Coach makes little (rather, nothing!) available to the public. In fact, most Coach employees aren't even familiar with how to decipher serial numbers.

Here's a side-by-side comparison of 2 creeds, one fake and one authentic. Because they are from the same year and factory (and supposedly made just a month apart), fonts, spacing and details should be identical.

It wasn't your listing that was referred to as having poor photos. In fact, the creed photo shown in your listing was as clear as could be and EXACTLY as we like to see them!

We were all referring to a poor and illegible creed photo referenced in this post (regarding a now-removed) listing on ebay:

No one accused you of knowingly selling fakes. Even honest sellers can make mistakes but as I've said in the past, it's how those mistakes are handled that give insight into how honorable the seller is, whether the seller is willing to own up to an error and whether the seller is one we'd want to do business with.

You can't imagine how many people come here and to the ebay (and other discussion) boards claiming that they received items from rich relatives who'd never buy fakes, wealthy estate sales that always vet items prior to putting them out for sale, etc.

A good rule of thumb to go by is that if you didn't personally purchase an item yourself from a legitimate retailer (and that doesn't mean a thrift or consignment store), for your own reputation, ebay account and your own peace of mind and for that of your buyers, it's a good idea to get your items looked at by those who really know the brand. Although you said you had this purse looked at by someone who knows Coach, clearly, that person was wrong.

I'm sorry that someone scammed you along the way but if you learn from the experience, you can make sure it doesn't happen again. (BTW, all the rest of [URL='https://www.ebay.com/usr/vintageslv']vintageslv[/URL]'s listings look good.)

I'm trying to upload the duffle because the creed is not longer visible. How can I upload a picture. It keeps saying the file is too big?

I can't read the creed number but it doesn't look good to me. It looks like the prefix is W*S. The handle is the wrong shape, the 'o' is too big and the underline under the 'o' is too long.
