Hi all, please take a look at this crossbody. I'm pretty sure it's fake - look at hardware, fabric, interior seam. But... So many of them? If you search Coach 42531, you'll see a whole bunch - as well as those that were or were not sold. How do we report them all?

I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

HOLD IT. What hardware problems? Do you mean the strap clips? And if there a lot of similar examples on Ebay, that's an indication that it's GENUINE, not fake!

Coach's photos: 42531, Parker Op Art Swingpack. I don't have any inside pics but I don't think I need them in this case:

Can several of you please authenticate this Coach Musette? I have many authentic COACH bags from the late 70's and throughout the 80's that I myself purchased by mail from the Coach NY factory. This vintage musette looks brand new and it feels like the leather is a bit lighter in weight than my smaller, vintage bags. Maybe due to non-use? Also, the creed number is glued in, which none of my bags from this era were and if you flip the creed pocket over, the stitching is uneven in one spot that actually allows me to poke my finger through the pocket at the bottom. Last, the imprint line about COACH being a registered trademark is something I've never seen. Any help is much appreciated because it was very expensive and I want to be absolutely sure.

Welcome to the purse forum. We can't view the listing through that link, since that is from your completed transaction. I can't find the etsy shop for that seller either.

View attachment 3795177 View attachment 3795178 Hello pals. Please help me look at my purchase from UK COACH official online store.
I just purchased from UK coach and shipped to my country by a forwarding company! I assume Coach UK sent their shipments from Netherland (because the return lable is to Netherland).
I ordered this DINKY #38185 in navy burnished glovetanned leather crossbody dinky and after i opened the bag, inner batch is 20215!!! How come? I don't really understand why, but i know there are some dinky has a inner batch 20215 (i have a western rivets dinky which has 20215 inside batch from Macy's US, but its a DINKY 24 the large version), but I couldn't understand this #38185 has a 20215 batch, its neither patterned or large size, its just a medium dinky ... please see attached for its website pic and the item i received! Even the dust bag was sent wrong! Its not a 1941 dust bag?! So strange. But im pretty sure i ordered from UK Coach official! Im so disappointed! I live in Australia, if i return the item i need to pay extra postage fee ship it back to my UK forwarding company and pay administration fees total will be 76 Pounds! what should i do? Anyone can explain to me if this is their fault or this is what a correct#38185 dinky ?! Without a 1941 dust bag:sad:? Thank you pals!

Coach has been using numbers on some 1941 creeds that they apparently made up in their heads, we've complained about this many times here and in other threads. If you search all the Coach forums here for 20215 you'll see what I mean. That stamped number means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and is NOT the real style number of the bag.

There should be a TINY white tag buried in one of the inside pockets with the production codes and the actual style number. please post a photo of it when you find it. Also post a photo of your receipt, cover up your name and any other personal information. Also post a photo of whatever price tags and labels were on the bag and wrappings showing the style number.

If whatever company shipped you the bag actually sent the wrong item, it should not be your responsibility to pay for the return, but you'll have to handle that with them.

Here are the sellers pictures which accurately reflect what I received...and her name is NinaDsVintage on Etsy, which I mispelled in my first post. The creed is authentic for a bag made around 1980. Coach used the registered trademark symbol with the glued in creeds for about 3 years. (Surprisingly, there is no record that they had registered the trademark at that time!) My only concern is that the padding on the turnlock tabs looks a lot more prominent than I've seen. However, I still think the bag is authentic. It is in remarkable condition.

Thank you Whatever, for your opinion.
I'd welcome other Purse Forum authenticators to weigh in on my new Musette bag, just so i have a consensus. Real...or questionable?

It is in truly flawless condition, which is one of the things that throws me.
I suppose I'm harder on my bags than this one reflects, lol, and that {coupled with the weight issue and the knowledge that COACH reissued this bag a few years back} gave me pause.

Thank you Whatever, for your opinion.

I agree. The bag is genuine.
