Hello, it's been a while since my last post and have actually forgotten my old account details already.. anyway this is a personal item. Bought it from Coach Outlet store in Gimhae, South Korea. I am pretty sure it's authentic since I was the one who personally bought it, however the issue lies with the serial# in the creed as it cannot be found when you google search for it.. I'm hoping someone can help me clear this issue if I ever decide to resell the bag. Thanks in advance. ☺

Don't depend on Google, and especially if you're searching using the entire serial number. The first half of the serial number includes the date and location production codes and it's entirely possible that you won't find a match. You shouldn't even be using the factory outlet code "F" at the beginning of the style number when you're searching. And, most importantly, Coach items on their website rarely can be found using Google, and then only a few of the most recent styles. Items from the Coach outlets aren't even on Coach's main Search system and hardly ever show up on Google unless they've been recently listed for sale some place like Ebay. And companies like Coach that are concerned with protecting their listing and photo copyrights often will block Google from scanning and archiving their listings.

Just because something's not on Google doesn't mean it's questionable, especially when you bought it directly from a Coach store. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Hi,
I posted a bag to be authenticated earlier. I know it is Friday and most of you are probably unwinding and relaxing. I just purchased a bag this morning and I know I should have checked its authenticity before I purchased it but it seemed like a good price. So I hope it is authentic:-)

I have a weird question, and I thought the people who are most likely to know would be the authenticators since you guys spend a lot of time looking at different Coach bags. Here goes

Are there ever different versions of 1941 bags? I got one from last year at the outlet and the style number shows a very very similar bag but slightly different (it's a patchwork and the texture of the blue patches is smooth on mine but pebbled on the Malaysian coach site and the embroidery of some of the patches is also different.) I know it's not a fake because I found pictures of one exactly like mine that were carried by celebrities and a listing on Nordstrom from last year. I'm just so curious why there are two versions with the same style number! I thought maybe they made a runway version and used the photo on the website and then ended up changing some details for the retail stores but I saw pictures from retail stores that match the pictures on the site. :eek:anyone have any ideas? I just gotta know haha

Coach often changes details during production, and they've always done so. There are a lot of styles especially from a few years ago where their early production and website photos don't match the final versions. The only way to be sure is to authenticate it. But the problem we have here is that it's harder for us here in the USA to authenticate bags made for the Asian market if we don't have photos of actual examples known to have been bought directly from Coach, because Coach has made slightly different versions and different color combinations of the same style for different markets and different retail partners like department stores. It's always frustrating for us Yanks to look at the different international Coach sites, especially Japan and China, and see styles we can't even buy in the US. :crybaby:

Another thing to keep in mind especially in bags made for Asian markets is what kind of leather is used. For instance a patchwork bag made for the US and Europe might have one or two pigskin patches, but countries with a large Muslim population would never receive those, the patches would be changed for those markets or the style would not even be available. There was a vintage line of bags in the 1990s that came standard with pigskin trim and Coach actually made many of that line's styles in a no-pigskin version by special order.
