Listing number:
Seller:! tina

Comments: I have the bag in my possession, I can post more pictures if necessary. Please let me know if it is authentic, if so how old is it?

Thank you in advance.

We need to see a clear, readable photo of the creed stamp and the serial number, and a photo of the back plate of the turnlock, the part that's on the back of the flap.

It's authentic. It was made in 1995.

Hello,
I'm requesting some help in authenticating a bag I picked through an online Goodwill auction. I came upon the bag within 10 minutes of end of auction and had no time to request your assist then. I bid and I won it, and have it now. I love it even if it's not a real Coach I suppose. It is such nice leather. Love the simple style, color, strap drop. Just needs some leather treatment. Height 9", width at bottom 8 7/8", width at top 8", depth 2 1/2", strap drop 23". Thank you so much for your experience and the time you put into this.
Name: vintage Brown Coach Crossbody Purse
Item # 41387449
Seller: Goodwill Industries
Link: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=41387449
Edit: I hope my bidder name doesn't show up the way I can see it. It also states " Buy now used", which is strange. I'll remove this link when you're done with it.

It's a genuine Lindsay Bag, style 9888 from the early 1990s.

BTW, no need to remove the link. They hide the bidder IDs the same way Ebay does. The listing says:
"High bidder 4***s (Buy Now Used) For the protection of our buyers, the bidder name is only visible to the bidder."

Thank you Hyacinth! If I were to look for a hangtag for it, what would be the correct type for this bag at that time? A double sided, or one with suede on one side?

Coach Mercer or not? I would appreciate a confirmation that it checks out. It looks great but considering the price, condition, and how very recently this color was sold in this style for twice as much I thought I should check. Thanks for your help, link with info is below.

It looks good to me.

ETA: I wish sellers wouldn't use any stolen stock images in their listings. It's a violation of the owners' intellectual property rights and isn't necessary anyway when the seller is capable of taking perfectly good pictures herself! JMHO.

I'm not sure about the hangtag, on an older style from the 90s my guess would be the double-sided kind but there aren't any similar styles in my closet to check. Maybe Whateve someone at the Rehab and Rescue board might know.
