Welcome to TPF.

For future requests, please refer to post #1 on page 1 of this thread for the posting format and information we need to see.

The pictures you've posted show an authentic bag.

When comparing details, it's important to compare apples to apples. Fonts, creed text and other details can change from year to year and factory to factory.

In the following comp, I've shown your serial number and another from the same month, year and plant and they are identical (except for color).

Thanks for your reply. I thought I followed the correct format, but I'll make sure next time. I'm a poster for a company so there isn't any link for it. I came here first before listing the item.
Thanks again!

No problem. You didn't indicate that the bag isn't listed anywhere.

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

Welcome to tPF, Brandon!
And just a heads-up, to add to what BeenBurned already posted - every major handbag and accessory brand has their own forum and authentication thread here, so always be sure to read post One for the brand you're trying to authenticate in their dedicated forum. Some have very specific rules, and a few won't authenticate for resellers. We're pretty much "anything goes" here in Coach and we have good reasons for asking for the information specified in the post, but reading or refreshing your memory with that Rules post every time for every brand is always a good idea.

Good to know. I'm glad I mostly deal with Coach then :)
Thanks for all of the info.

Hello Authenticators! Can you let me know about this one? I'm a sucker for a purple bag. Thanks in advance!

Item: Coach Violet Embossed Horse & Carriage Lge. Edie Shoulder Bag
Listing number: 272760257965
Seller: 2adorablekids

I don't believe the pictures show an authentic bag or there's a mix of pictures belonging to different bags.

The serial number on the creed doesn't match the style of the bag it's on. (10616 is a different style bag.) And in fact, the seller has 2 other authentic 10616 bags but neither bag has the color or creed shown in the listing for the purple bag.

Other opinions are welcome.

It's fine. Good deal!

And the creed photo of the embossed bag shows a beige or tan lining white the other pics seem to show a lining that's the same color as the bag. The year code for 2008 seems to be much too early for that embossed style, assuming the bag itself is genuine. The Leather Embossed Edie MIGHT be style 33727 according to this Japan listing (it seems like they're the same size) and probably wouldn't have a stamped serial number, so did the seller deliberately try to conceal the lack of a stamped serial by "borrowing" the creed from a different bag, hers or someone else's? (The seller shows photos of 2 of the 3 inner compartments but NOT the one that holds the zipped pocket and creed patch). Why not just show a photo of the inside of the price tag?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auth-COACH-...258073?hash=item361cf82399:g:7l4AAOSwcB5ZMUwf

So there's no way to determine authenticity. We'd want to see the ACTUAL creed patch, "Made in" tag and the small white tag that's probably inside the zipped pocket, and I'd want to see a large clear pic of the stamping on the "male" part of the magnetic snap. And we'd also like to hear why the seller posted a non-related photo in the listing of a creed from a bag at least 2 years older. Wouldn't 10616 be a Carly?

Thanks! It's good to be back.
That is the bag that was purchased by 4oaks. I was wondering about the bag that Purse_Addiction said she purchased in post #23735. In her post, she mentioned buying the same bag and the leather felt funny.
Hello Whateve, the black Belted Pouch that was purchased by Purse_Addiction which she said felt plasticky was ebay listing #152551143602.

This is one of those cases where my cynicism would overrule my emotional love of a purple bag!

In answer to Hyacinth's question asking whether "the seller deliberately try to conceal the lack of a stamped serial by "borrowing" the creed from a different bag, hers or someone else's," I say, yes!!

Before posting earlier, I went through Google images and ebay listings trying to find the purple Coach Carly bag from which she stole the creed picture. I couldn't find it!

If she owns a purple Carly, she didn't buy it from any of the sellers whose listings are still showing in completed/sold listings. I looked at the feedback numbers of the buyers and unless 2adorablekids used a different buying ID, she didn't buy any of the purple Carlys (Carlies?).

Actually one of her pictures shows a portion of the creed and the zipper pocket. There's also a tag shown in the same picture.

Anyone up for asking about discrepancy in the creed picture as well as requesting pictures of the creed and the inside of the tag?

Unless there's a valid explanation, I can't recommend this seller! Purposely misrepresenting something that will be as obvious to the buyer as an incorrect creed and lining is really odd.
