Here is another J8Y creed bag so... fake?

Item:Vintage Coach Legacy Trail Lime Green Crossbody Handbag 9965
Seller: barbus-7mrqnbl
item#: 151605243699
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...699?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234c606f33

Yes, fake. We've never found an authentic bag with that prefix. Notice that you never see the Y factory code with any other month and year. Why would they go to the expense of opening a factory for just one month? I don't think they ever made this style with nickel hardware. The bags that were made in the kiwi or lime color were done with brass hardware. The style was never called a trail bag either.
While your reporting, you might also want to report this current listing from barbus-7mrqnb.

This is actually a fairly "good" fake.

Thanks ladies. I saw that comparison pic and I'm like, how can they compare 2 fine looking creeds and say one is fake? I found the 6388 bag and the creed looks almost identical including the underscore.
I just hate the bad info out there.
In the same thread, someone said that as long as it has YKK, the bags were real. I immediately called her out and the response was, I can tell a fake from a mile away.
I just said, good for you but your advice is pretty bad, especially for newbies.
She then deleted her comments and everyone started bashing me.
As much as it frustrates me, i just want to tell them to enjoy their fake bags with fake YKK zippers.

If the site allows links to be posted, you may want to post a link to the Salearea Coach Guide on theYKK Zipper Myth:

Or to this post, showing a screamingly obvious fake Hippie Flap Bag style 9134 with a date code "4" for 1994. Trouble is that the Hippie Flap 9134 wasn't even introduced until 1999. And silver hardware wasn't introduced until 1998.

Note the "YKK zipper".

Note the "YKK zipper".

And here's a closeup of a fake creed with an invalid serial number with the dash in the wrong place and "marXings" spelled with an X. Note the YKK zipper that's also much too short for the pocket.

Or this one of a fake style 12943 - the fabric pattern is Ikat, but style 12943 belongs only to an Op Art C-pattern style, shown at the top. The clear plastic on the handles ALWAYS indicates a fake.

Is this bag authentic?

Coach Willis British Tan Leather/Brass Handbag Purse Crossbody Bag #4082, VGC
Item 321683856029
Seller sbrady56

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Willi...029?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae5da1a9d

Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn but the full number is J4N-4082 and that number is from the list of known fake serial numbers posted by Hyacinth. It should only belong to a Soho bag from 1994.
Wait for other opinions but I'll post my 2-cents worth.

AFAIK, N is the plant code for Mexico, yet this bag shows that it's (supposedly) made in the USA. And the style number doesn't belong to a Willis.

And my records show that I reported the seller sbrady56 's 4 times in January, February and twice in April, 2013.

Personally, I don't recommend sbrady56.

Yikes! The style number did not match up with a Willis. That is why I wanted another opinion before I reported the bag/seller. Will report. Thanks.

Could someone please authenticate these 2 Coach bags?
Both from GW...it's been a dry spell, but hopefully over :)
Approx. 11"w x 6.5"h x 4.25"d. Straps 8" to buckles.
This bag is in pristine condition...found in the general purse population for $17.99...oops!
Maybe a 2003 Hampton Small Flap Satchel #9267? Found a larger one on wayback, but not this one.
Any info is always appreciated...thanks in advance!

The 2nd GW bag is not nearly as nice, but rehab-able I think.
Approx. 12"w x 12"h x 2"d. Strap 8.5 to buckles.
A 2004 Soho Mini Signature Large Hobo #1461?
Thanks again!
