Thank you and be safe!

So I think I found a green Whitney today...but it has me a little concerned. Now that I'm really looking at it, the dash in the creed seems rather long and the font for the serial doesn't seem quite right. (The H seems rather large compared to the other letters, but maybe that's why the bullet stamp's on there?)

But AFAIK, the factory and style codes look correct.
TIA for calming or confirming my fears!

It's genuine.

There are a few things I mentioned in my post - the G plant font in 1999 MAY have been different from earlier ones, I've found several other 1999 bags with various month codes and the same smaller G, pics of the creeds below. If you want pics of the rest of the bag(s), let me know and I'll post them separately. Notice that the "9" in what I think may be genuine bags is different from the one in the fake 5180 briefcase, the base of the 9 in the fake is much shorter.

Also note my comment on the turnlock backs of the rectangular turnlocks, the ones I've found in other 5180s from 1997 thru 1999 are also indented although not as deeply as in the fake.

Pictures are - First three creeds, probably/possibly real, 4th is the fake 5180, 5th is the back of a genuine late 90s briefcase turnlock from a style 5180 made in Mexico.
Hyacinth, yes, the bottom 'hook" on the 9 is shortened as you said.

Another thing I found... notice that the underscore , the little dash underneath the "O" in No. is higher up on the fake.
On all of the probable authentic bags it is level with the bottom of the "N".

Please authenticate these two Duffle's. TIA! :)

Seller: Coachrehab

Comments: Here's my concern. It looks like this listing uses a photo from the other listing (photo 6). It also has a combo of many different photo backgrounds, which raised a red flag. Both listings have the same photo (although seller below has more photos with the same background). They also both reference the same wrinkle.

Item: 143269883
Seller: Oldschool

Comments: The "F" in the creed looks too far apart from the rest of the number?

I think you are right: Coachrehab stole the pictures from Oldschool. All of Oldschool's photos are the same size and have similar backgrounds. Coachrehab's pictures come from several sources and are all different sizes. I wouldn't buy from a seller who doesn't use her own photos and thinks it is okay to steal them.

I have this duffle with the same creed, and the "f" in mine has the same spacing as Oldschool's.

It's a genuine Brighton Bag, style 9892 from around 1992

Hyacinth, I am curious about the style of this bag. Attached is a photo of a Brighton bag from a previous request. (The $550 alleged purchase in Hawaii by the seller. Item 151562291852) The bag in the photo has a tab, and the bag I just asked about has a snap or spring lock. Any other details you could give me about the bag's style in this quoted request would be greatly appreciated.

NUTZ. Sorry about that. How about a Fulton Bag, style 9898, Spring 1992.
