I wasn't sure where to put this. I keep seeing this in many groups. I am SO tired of the bad info floating around out there.
In this "meme", both of these creeds look ok to me. Even though I can't see the rest of the bag, the creed like fine.
Also 6338 is a legit bag (if it says that)

Yes, it's very much ok to post it as long as it's clearly shown as an INVALID comparison so no ones gets even more confused than the original poster. There's plenty of misleading information in those photos.

For instance, some genuine bags especially from newer plants with less experienced workers can have slanted stitching.

The position of the underline in "No" usually doesn't prove anything unless compared with serials from the same immediate family - same plant, month and year. Below is a genuine Suede Butterfly Applique Duffle with the underline in the same position as the possible fake and I KNOW it's genuine because I own it and that style hasn't been faked. (The uneven stamping is the most solid red flag but again, we'd always want to see the bag itself.)

Unfortunately the possibly well-meaning but clueless people who post these "comparisons" seem to think that every single Coach ever made should have exactly the same details in things like creeds and hangtags. Not only are there no pictures of the actual bags to make it a (slightly) better comparison, but the stampings are from different MONTHS, different YEARS and different PLANTS as well as different styles. Why in the world should they look alike? Even if one of them happens to be from a fake bag, there's NO other evidence to prove it.

It's foolish "proofs" like this that lead to gullible members buying fakes, and HONEST sellers being reported for completely genuine bags. When comparing creeds, they have to BE COMPARABLE. And we've even seen situations where creeds from the same style, month, year and plant are different because of changes to the creed and serial stampings being made on the fly by Coach.

Or situations where the same style, month, year and plant are different because the plant had two different stamps.

I am so jealous of your butterfly duffle. It is gorgeous!

Wow! What a great price! I'm jealous. It appears to be an authentic large saddle pouch, although the seller didn't provide measurements so I'm not sure which size it is. These used to go for big bucks. I wonder if it is really burgundy.

Tha saddle pouch came today. Burgundy. Size about 10.5 x 9. This makes up for the
smaller tobacco smelly red one I purchased and returned a few months ago!

I'll add my 2-cents worth although I don't think any of us can state whether the supposedly fake bag is actually fake.

Here's the alleged fake creed from the "guide" you found, followed by 3 bags which I believe are genuine. (Creed pictures will be followed by links to the listings because it's IMPOSSIBLE to judge a bag with just a creed.)

I do notice a difference in the stamping pressure but the underscore under the o is IMO identical:

From this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MED-SMALL-C...604?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b0d3407c4

And this one, again with the same underscore:

And #3:

All I can say is WOW!!!
How totally clueless that post-er is.
I hope you can do something to discredit that bogus information.
I agree with yours & Hyacinth's opinion (like Hyacinth needs my back-up lol) that the creed looks fine.
Keep up the good work!

And here's a listing for a style 6388, what I believe to be the same style as the alleged fake. Although this bag was made a few months earlier than the others, it is from the same year and plant and the slanted stitching, spacing in the text and serial number and underscore are identical.

If it makes you feel better, your text thief, seller nerflot1 sold a fake that can be reported. (I do report completed listings when I find them in the hopes that the buyer might question authenticity and request a refund when the listing is pulled.)

Here's a Bazooka bubble gum pink bag:

OH GOODY GOODY GUMDROPS!! :graucho: Thank you BB!! And by the way, she put a disclaimer that the bag was not GREEN, but did not add:This bag was NEVER REHABBED or CONDITIONED..so IMO that is even more slippery & slimey...That is what I called her on..it says rehabbed cleaned & conditioned BT Beauty..And her listing says it is dirty and in need of CLEANING??:yucky:
