Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Hello!
Hope no one takes great offense at asking a question that has not to do with authenticating a bag,
Seller on ebay wants me to contact them directly for a return of a bag I bought on ebay and I don't know how to do that, all I can find is contact seller through ebay. Does any one here who might buy or sell on ebay know how ?
If question is not appropriate , please ignore or delete and accept my apologies.
Thought I have read there are sellers that use this site (?) who might know the ropes, I do not.
Return is not for a substandard bag, just too heavy for me.

But since you've posted here, I'll respond.

If the seller doesn't have a return policy, she's not obligated to accept a return for buyer remorse, which this would be.

However if she chooses to take it back, you would have to pay return shipping (as well as initial shipping or a restocking fee) if the seller has that in her listing. (The seller is already out the amount of initial shipping having paid USPS to ship it so it's unfair (IMO) that you wouldn't cover that.)

On the right, click on more actions and choose "return this item."

Thank you for your help and the link to find other info. There is a 'no hassle' return policy and I agree paying all shipping and restocking fees is fair.

The red bag you asked about is genuine - Legacy West Short Shoulder Flap. BUT - Coach lists the strap as only 29 inches in LENGTH, not drop, so there's absolutely NO way it's a crossbody unless you're a hobbit, and a skinny one at that. The drop is probably about 12 inches give or take an inch either way.

Since the seller has a no hassle policy, then she's required to accept the return for any reason and you would just comply with the terms of her policy as stated in the listing.

Seller just asked I contact them directly if I wanted to return instead of 'opening a case with ebay' Did not know how to do that.
Bag is nice (not a Coach) but man is it heavy, Break my back using it,

There's no way I'd recommend buying any of those bags from any seller other than Coach or an authorized retailer. And even then, there's the risk of a dishonest seller having done a "buy and switch" and returning a fake. (Refer to the Loukpeach discussion on the ebay subforum.) The newer bags with weird non-serial numbers or sans serial numbers are already so closely faked that they're extremely time-consuming and difficult to authenticate and now, they're making it even more difficult.

That's strange because if the seller has a return policy and you request a return, as long as the seller agrees to accept it, there's no "case," i.e., no ding against the seller.

I don't get it either. An invoice inside the package that had on the bottom in a tiny square "reason for return" along with the request not to 'open a case' because it counts against a seller.
Says, "please contact us directly if you would like to return an item rather than opening a case in eBay." Fill out form and return. But how to contact as well.
Whenever I have requested a return (not often) I just click return item on the original order and it goes through ebay.
I am a little nervous because what if they don't refund my money (minus shipping), with no overseer of the return. We're talking close to $100.
Just wondered if any seller here knows whats going on or if this is a common request (?).
Anyway, I'm taking s;pace and time up with non germane subject. I'll figure it out, thanks.

Did you pay using PayPal? If so, then the seller's email address (shown on the PayPal confirm) that's linked to the acct the payment was made to at be an appropriate route.

I can't read the serial number either and although it doesn't look like it says 11011, I also don't see any problems with the bag. It's probably okay but before giving a thumbs up, I'd like to see a legible picture of the creed.

LOL! I spent time looking for the correct style number and by the time I found it and came back to correct the seller's error, you'd posted.

the bag is authentic.
