Comments: My notes show that the "R" was valid for a facility in Thailand starting in 1999. Was this letter ever legitimately employed for US plant prior to then?

As always, TIA for your expert input and commentary.

Hi. I am new to this forum and if I am not posting correctly please let me know. I am trying to authenticate and determine the size, name, and style of this bag I have come across at a private estate sale. I have taken some photo's but if you are in need of more information please let me know. Thank you in advance for any help I may receive.View attachment 3731158

I don't do newer styles, but this one seems ok although you might want to wait for more opinions. I believe it's one of the Madison Sabrinas from 2008 but I can't find the number.

I seem to recall that an "X" in the ident number can be legit if it's in the proper location. I'm assuming that this may not be the case here...

Comments: An "X" in the month position?
Please remind me when and where an "X" may be plausible (intended Discount store and before the style number?)

As always, TIA for your expert input and commentary.

FAKE. An X in the month position is never valid. Neither are silver strap grommets with brass buckles, and neither are creed stampings that are so bad that the "A" in the Coach logo looks more like a smudge than a letter - take a close look. The rest of the creed isn't much better.

An X as a retailer or discount store code would only be valid at the end of the style number AFAIK. There was also an X plant code for a Dominican Republic plant but we still don't have enough proof either way if it was ever used for any US plant.

That seller has a decade-long record for "mixing", selling both real and fake. Posts here reccomending against buying from her go back at least to 2008.

Once again, silver strap grommets with brass buckles, unfinished stitching on the top zipper's leather pull tab, lousy stitching on the binding ends on the base, and I've never seen that serial number font in a genuine bag. The only provable bags with R plant codes that I've seen have been from the Thailand plant.

Sophistifashion has been one of my "favorites" to watch for as long as Hyacinth mentions.

And anyone who SELLS COACH should add both her IDs, sophistifashion and her buying ID, mrsky01 to their BBLs. Although there's nothing wrong with flipping, she's one those flippers who is dangerous for the sellers she purchases from:

Thank you for all the info. Duly noted. It's very useful knowing which individuals to avoid in both buying and selling directions. Someone who leaves unwarranted or dubiously-based negative feedbacks isn't the type of individual anyone should want to do business with.

And for those of us keeping score on sophistifashion and mrsky01, while reporting the current fake, I found that she also sold the following:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-9090-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
and
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-BLACK...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I believe this is fake but need to be 100% sure. Thank you.

Comment: A very good fake? but creed P7Z 9033 is wrong wrong wrong.

ETA: Seller has used the same fake creed picture on another listing, a Court Bag.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-COACH-C...ssenger-Bag-Purse-9870-HUNGARY-/272718416498?
You are correct. In addition to the serial number being invalid in every way, the text is too squished together, 9033 isn't a backpack and there's a border around the serial number.

ETA: I wouldn't report the Court bag. I think that is probably okay though it can't be determined without the correct picture. But it also can't be proven fake with the incorrect creed photo.

ETA again: She also has this fake:

The Drawstring Bucket with the fake creed is OK to report. The Black Casino Bag # 272718381338 is also fake, the font of the serial number is completely wrong for the plant and year.
Please report:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-V...381338?hash=item3f7f48411a:g:HzkAAOSw8GtZQiCo

The Court Bag is probably OK and the seller " detroitvault " - who should NOT be selling Coach products! - may have mixed up their photos. The serial number and country are probably valid.

ETA - Blast! I really need to refresh the page before I post.
