The creed looks very similar to the creed of my own mini borough bag, except for the stamped D. What does this extra stamp mean?

The bag looks good.

I don't know what the D is for but it's probably part of a department store's marking system indicating (to them) that the bag came from their stores. (Dillard's, maybe?)

I'm wondering that myself, since that single letter D is new to me. The bag was made in 2013, has anyone seen this stamp before?

The Willis is genuine but there's a problem with the turnlock assembly. Several of the prongs holding the back part of the oval plate on the flap look like they're broken off or missing. You may end up having to spend money of a new turnlock kit, I don't think Coach still does free replacements especially on a bag that's already 19 years old. The seller doesn't show any clear photos of the back of the turnlock but there's definitely a problem with it. The turnlock may have been replaced, or removed and then positioned incorrectly but it looks like it's BARELY being held on by only 2 prongs that aren't even centered correctly, the second photo even shows the marks of where the original turnlock was.

The second looks like a genuine City Bag but goes to prove what we've said over and over and over again - don't EVER expect a seller to know the correct year or place of manufacture, style number, name or especially the designer of the Coach bags they sell. This one is from 1994, NOT from the '70s or '80s! There are some absolute CWAP "guides" on the internet and at Ebay and they have the dates completely wrong. There are some sellers who can accurately date a Coach bag but keremelkitten obviously isn't one of them.

Do you know more about the adjustable shoulder strap? It's thicker with different hardware than the original strap that came with my own mini borough bag. Is it a replacement strap from Coach?

I like the thin non-adjustable strap a lot more, so I was thinking about getting one from my Coach store (if possible). But if the thick adjustable strap is what they are selling as replacement then I can just leave it as is.

Comments: What I am not sure about is...

• the shoulder strap - probably a replacement, but is it a Coach original?
• the style number - thought it should be 28163 instead of 32503
• the missing leather straps on the zippers

The bag itself is genuine.

Anything else is speculation on my part but these are my thoughts.
1. Seller states in listing that bag had a return ticket when she bought it at Macy's
2. Seller states that it came with that strap
3. I can't tell from pictures whether color and texture of the strap match the bag but assuming they do, I suspect that someone bought the bag, switched the strap with another (coach or not, I don't know and can't tell from the poor quality pictures) and also removed the tassels from the zipper pulls.

It's possible you can get a replacement strap from Coach if you go to a full-priced (not outlet) store. But don't disclose that you bought the bag online. Coach hates that its products are resold and not only will they deny you a strap but they may even tell you an authentic item is fake.

Huh. In my fake and suspicious numbers list (copied from ebay guides), it says J8P prefix is ALWAYS FAKE (their italics, not mine). Actually, not sure who wrote the list but I check things with it.
Sorry.
Just read Part One of the same guide which says. 'all J8P prefixes stating made in the United States are fake."
Part 2 does not clarify, states they are all fake.
I either copied it wrong or they got it wrong.
Was under the impression Hyacinth helped write this particular guide but not so I guess.

Can someone help authenticate this. The creed patch is not readable and there is no white tag in the inside pocket like the new bags. It has the exact same body as size as the large phoebe but only has one top handle and only one main interior section. It also has unusual hangtags. has ykk and ideal brand zippers and interior and leather is identical to my other authentic bags

Help. I cant read the serial info on this bag. Im trying to find the name of this bag. The creed is not readable and there is no white tag inside (like the new bags have). Its the same size and body as the large phoebe but only has one top handle and doesnt have the 3 conpartments like the phoebe. it has ideal brand zippers and the leather and interior is identical to my phoebe bags but ive never seen this style or these hangtags. can someone help
