Neither of those have any red flags so I'd say Genuine. The brown shade is probably just British Tan, that color name was used for a whole range of tan shades.

Thanks for posting the photos!
Thanks so much. That explains the British Tan. I thought it might be, but have seen other bags called the same but were much lighter. You gals are the best [emoji8] & much appreciated.

Comments: Listing has 1 image of creed further down on the page, the serial looks a little wide and light, not sure if that is an issue. Also the piping is much lighter than the bag, is this a red flag?

from the seller: The creed tag indicates it was made in the USA out of glove-tanned cowhide, with serial number ending in 331. This is an older bag, so the number doesn't correspond to a style.... Measures 8.5" across, 7.5" tall, 3" deep, up to 24" strap drop.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your help!

It's a genuine Chester bag style 9901 from the early 1990s.

Different swatches of leather take color and conditioning differently. It's not a problem. The leather texture is unusual and normally wouldn't have so much texture, and no, I don't know if that's just the normal texture of the skins used or whether it's because of something else.

I referenced this one in a post earlier today. I can't say for sure if it is authentic. I'm not sure those are grooves. My concern is that the zipper has no stops.

Do you have several of these? If you do, I'd like to see them for comparison. I'm particularly interested in if the zippers have stops and the location of the logo.

We've seen several with the logo lower down like this, but I'm not sure any of those have been proven to be authentic.

ETA: I'd be interested in other opinions.
