You are correct: The "buyer" wants to return. Fingers typing faster than brain.

If she's questioning the leather, you can send her this link to the Salearea Coach Guides where I mention that the leathers on the Lightweights are thinner and lighter than "regular" Coaches:

http://www.ebay.com/gds/Authentic-Coach-Vintage-and-Classic-Leather-/10000000062579034/g.html

and all six Guides:

"SPEAKING OF LEATHER
Sometimes an older Coach will be branded a fake because the leather is thinner than the classic baseball-glove style leather used for most Coach bags since they started making handbags in 1960. But Coach did make a line of Lightweight bags starting in the late 1980s to try and reduce the weight of the bags and prevent shoulder and back pain. The leathers were thinner, and hardware was kept to a minimum and also made lighter, smaller and thinner, with magnetic snaps often replacing the classic brass turnlocks and plastic zippers often replacing the old brass ones. Even in modern bags, Coach uses a wide variety of fabrics and leathers, and no one can claim something's counterfeit because the fabric isn't the same as a totally unrelated bag - you have to compare apples and apples. When in doubt, ask at Ebay's Purse forum for help. "

And there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the bag in your listing, all the details including the creed stamping, fonts and serial number are exactly right for a style number 4140 Soho Lafayette Bag made in 1996. (The Sohos were originally called Lightweights).

Thank you. Still waiting for a response. I will direct her here as well as sending the Salearea guide. This is the second Lightweight I've had problems with. Personally the Lightweights are my favs.

It's like Where's Waldo. How many fakes can you spot? The more I looked, the more I found.

Yep, without even looking closely I found 3 bags and a cosmetic case with screwed-up C patterns, plus the fake patchwork "Ergo" hobo. Not to mention the fake price tag and a bunch of fake hangtags. Creed pics would have confirmed a few others.

Hi everyone-- I hope you don't mind my posing another ebay return question (seems like a day for them). I have a "no returns" policy on my ebay items (sorry but I'm just a small seller and have a hard time dealing with the whims and buyers remorse of so many buyers these days. As it is the unpaid cases keep me busy.) I make a point of posting many photos and a full description with measurements filled in, etc. Anyway, I've had a buyer request a return because she says it's not the size she was expecting. I checked and she is a buyer and seller of bags and has a number of Coach bags both currently and in her history. I would think she would know how to read size measurements and know what she was buying. Should I accept her return anyway? Is there a negative mark for her request and/or if I do or don't accept? She says if I don't accept she will just relist it herself. I'd rather her than me but does that make me a bad seller to say no?

I know this is not an authenticity question so I'm sorry. The people on here just seem like much more experienced in this than me. TIA

As a seller we just suck it up, apologize for the bag not working out, allow the return, and then block them from ever bidding on anything of ours ever again. There is no way of fighting the nonsense - just let it go and move on. We don't want or need the drama nor the negative feedback.

The twill striped bag might be authentic, the yellow siggy bag might be okay and the leather flap something might be okay. Everything else is fake.

If she claimed not as described, you'll get a defect whether or not you allow the return. If you aren't top rated, it won't make any difference to you. If she is willing to keep it, I would go that way, as long as she isn't going to give you negative feedback.

In my opinion from just looking at the outsides, I think 8 are fake!

I am considering outbidding everyone just so I can ensure nobody gets stuck with them,
then returning them because they are fake.
What do you think?

I have a couple of suggestions.

She's admitting that it's her mistake in not understanding the measurements so if she were to claim SNAD, chances are she'd find herself on BBLs for her lie.

But the fact that she's agreeing to list it herself if you don't take the return bothers me a bit. Why even contact you if she's a seller and is willing to sell herself?

You can respond nicely, telling her that you appreciate her offer to resell and since you notice she's an experienced and trusted seller (kiss a$$ plus let her know you know she's able to do it), she'll have no problem getting her money back.

You can offer to take the return as a goodwill gesture but since the return isn't due to your own error, shipping in both directions would be at her expense.

Perhaps she'll realize that if she's out of pocket shipping, it might just be easier to sell it herself.
