The white Taylor Zip 9944 looks ok.

The blue "Soho" doesn't. The creed and serial stampings don't look right. There should be a stamping on the "male" part of the magnetic snap at the top of the bag, is it possible to get a clear close-up of it?

Here' are 2 genuine stamp from that same plant and year for comparison, the first stamp is also from the same month and with several of the same numbers in the style number so you can see the differences between the 4s and 1s. The differences are small but obvious whwn you know what to look for. There's also a problem with the border around the Coach logo in the blue bag. It also seems to have silver-colored hardware which a purse from that month and year shouldn't have. I'm also seeing some serious problems with the stitching.

BTW, many earlier Coaches had "plastic" (actually nylon) zippers, especially the Sohos which were designed to be lighter in weight than other Coach lines, and lighter weight zippers were an important way of doing that.

Could you please authenticate these Coach bags? Thank you very much for your help.
1. Black Bag
2. Brown bag - the creed is so worn away, it was difficult to get a good photo.

Both the 9927 Willis and nad the 9996 Medium Framed Pouch look ok.

Thank you so much, Hyacinth!!! I appreciate the detective work on the blue bag. I can see the subtle differences in the creed as compared to the authentic ones. I'm attaching a couple of photos of the magnetic snap as you requested. snap1a.jpg

Thanks for the photos, now I'm sure it's counterfeit. A very close copy, but still fake.

Every genuine magnetic snap I've seen so far in Coaches has been one of 3 brands, and the one on the blue bag isn't one of those brands. A real Coach made during the time period shown in the date code should have a snap with a valid USA Patent number and made by COMAG, TOWANNY or ROMAG (they're all the same company). They might have just the company trademark, back-to-back capital "R"s in a combination circle and hexagon, one of the company names, or both. Always post photos here if you're not sure, some of them are close but there's always a mistake that gives the fakes away. Here's a genuine example from about the same time period as the fake date code:

Hyacinth, you are amazing. I wonder how many people in the world would be able to detect these small differences? Very few, I am certain. You are a wealth of knowledge, and I greatly appreciate your generosity in sharing it. I will pull this bag out of circulation and toss it.
