Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum, but have been an avid bag collector/hoarder for years. Coach is one of my loves, and I'm just venturing out of retail and looking to add some vintages to my collection. Can anyone ID/authenticate this vintage bag made in Italy? It seems to be along the lines of a Greensboro bag from the Sheridan collection. Google has given me pics of a solid black one, and a black with tan trim, both from second-hand sales sites. I know the fastener is odd. Is it real vintage Coach?

Welcome to tPF!
Without measurements or a photo of the side of the bag so we can see the strap attachment and other details, it's hard to be sure if it's a Greensboro or the smaller Durham Mini Bag, since both look identical from the front. Basing my guess just on the proportions of the hangtag compared to the size of the bag, I'm guessing it's the Durham Mini. Measurements should be about 6 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches, and it was style number 4211, made probably in 1992. (If it measures 9x8 then it's the #4210 Greensboro). It's genuine and Coach's photo is below. On any bags without serial numbers or with serial numbers that are all numbers and no letters, we usually need measurements and a photo of the side as well as the front and back.

Coach used that Slot and Stud closure for a brief time when the Sheridans were first introduced, but apparently changed it because it was too similar to Dooney's AWL styles. It was replaced probably in 1992 or early 1993 by a flat turnlock.

Item: unknown crossbody
Link: none (seller thought it was fake when I asked for creed but after emailing me the creed photo)
Creed: 027-3125
Comment: I am guessing this is also part of the Carriage Classics line? What was the name of this one? It was either 9X9 or 10X10

It's genuine but it's hard to tell just WHAT it is from the small photo. Next time please post a link if there is one. I THINK it's a Mulberry Bag from 1992, size is about 10x9, style number 9899.

Hi kind authenticators! I'm selling a couple of bags from my personal collection and since I bought them off ebay (one within the past 4 months and one about 6-7 years ago) I just wanted to double check their authenticity, though I'm pretty sure they're good to go. Maybe you can also help me on the identification of one.

First is a Zoe XL in dark brown.

Second is a men's messenger bag I bought sometime around 2009 off ebay or CL. It's navy canvas.

Thanks so much!

I can't help with style 12664 since I only have one tiny 100x100 pixel photo that doesn't show any details. Wait for more opinions.

6413 is a Transatlantic Messenger and looks ok.

Comment: Seller thinks it's coach but can't find a name anywhere. Has anyone seen anything like this made by Coach?

Seller states: "likely made by Coach, or Sacoche, or Robert Cheau, or Jack George, however I cannot find the label on there anywhere."

If the seller doesn't know it is an authentic Coach, the listing is reportable since they put "COACH" in the brand name field on the Item Specifics form.

Personally I do not think it is made by Coach. The overall quality looks poor and the zipper is wrong. Please wait for other opinions.

I agree, it wasn't made by Coach.

The Zoe looks fine.

I'm inclined to give the seller the benefit of the doubt on that one, especially after reading the entire description. It's not BLATANT Keyword Spamming like most of the listings I've reported and I'm not getting any kind of vibe that they're trying to trick or mislead potential buyers into thinking it IS Coach, like the listing mentioned a few posts before this one. For instance the name Coach isn't used in the actual listing title, and unless someone does an Ebay Advanced Search - Search Titles AND Descriptions, that listing might not even come up, as messed up as Ebay's Search has been for the last few years. I'd rather save my reports for the real offenders. And I haven't searched for any blatant previous offenses so I'm just going by instinct here.

JMO, of course, everyone is free to do what seems right to them. But I'd rather give sellers the benefit of the doubt when possible, they have enough clueless and dishonest buyers reporting them for non-existant offenses as it is.

I agree, the seller isn't trying to blatantly claim it is authentic coach (as my PM seller with an obvious fake). I won't be reporting. I think a nice message can suffice that if an item has no evidence of being a COACH then it shouldn't be listed as such.

Honestly, I was really hoping it was a COACH that you guys might have seen.. one of those pre-creeds with just the coach cartouche.. Sigh.

I agree and I won't be reporting it either. Seller has ended the listing and relisted, so they may be revising it. I do notice what looks like a Coach hang tag on the bag, possibly suggesting bit of wishful thinking on someone's part.

True vintage Bonnie cashin coach British tan leather messenger bag/brief case
Creed: k9z-5266
It's authentic but NOT Bonnie Cashin and not even vintage yet. (It was made in 1999 so it's got 3 years before being vintage)

ETA: Sorry. I didn't read ahead to see that Hyacinth had already commented on the listing.
