Which one are you unsure about, and why?
@Hyacinth
the heart and star one.......its considerable lighter weight wise....and the finish is not as shiny as the others....
could just be that someone actually used it?? maybe tarnished?
You lady are always so helpful, i really appreciate all of your info

Sorry I'm late in returning to this discussion.

In case you're interested, here are some of the style numbers I was able to come up with:
92885 - Signature lock and key KF
92072 - Rainy day KF
69939 - Pave disc KF
92631 - Script pave heart KF

For the others, I wasn't able to come up with the style numbers.

Thank you @BeenBurned for the style names & numbers,

Yup, there's a way to prove it!!(ETA: I posted before seeing that Catbird mentioned the creed having been added.)

And while we're on the subject of caju6434, it's worth noting that she also has this fake which isn't what 9931 should look like:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-LEATH...994861?hash=item237141d3ed:g:dTQAAOSwgmJXxawG

The creed is there and the serial number is a known invalid one: GAD-4437

And in case caju6434 's listings disappear, here's a comparison of her creed vs. an authentic one from the same month/year and plant.

Many things wrong with that bag! Those rivets on the strap make me cringe. The side tabs do match those Coach used on styles with non-removable straps but those are all sewn, not riveted. Even if Coach had used rivets, which I can't imagine them doing at the time, they would have matched the rest of the hardware, not been painted blue. And that fat edge at the end of the strap fold wouldn't have been acceptable. The shape and proportions of the bag don't match any styles I'm aware of. The turnlock is close but not exactly the right shape or proportions either. There is another mistake I see on many fake flap bags - the sides of the bag are too high so they smash into the folded over flap tightly. On authentic bags, there is some room at the top of the bag, which allows the top of the flap to have a more graceful rounded fold. Madisons have a distinctive curved back pocket; this one is straight across. The bottom corners are too rounded.
Thank you for the thorough response. So another fake Italian Madison.

FYI_ Actually, what you conclude are rivets on the straps I had thought were snaps (akin to the ones seen on the authentic under-the-flap straps) in order to make the strap removable. But had that been the case, then I'm sure that the strap end would have been spade-shaped (to coordinate with all the other trimmed ends that appear on a Madison bags).

As you said, there's no way to tell without seeing the inside of the bag and the creed. It's possible that a really good shoemaker could have modified the original strap for a side attachment, but I doubt it. The seller's description of the inside is a problem though, they say "THE INSIDE HAS ONE ZIPPER COMPARTMENT AND TWO OTHER FULL SIZE COMPARTMENTS" which doesn't fit either the 4413 Gracie or the slightly larger 4417 Biltmore, both of which are described as having only "back open and inside zipper pockets". Neither has "two other full-size compartments". My gut says Fake but there's no way to prove it without more photos. Here's the 4413 Gracie and a pic of the Biltmore in Garnet showing the same under-flap strap fastening and interior layout.

ETA - and of course, that's not a genuine Madison hangtag, although it's the same leather texture as the fake bag. The leather looks more like Pebbled than Caviar.
Thanks for the input and accompanying pictures. Indeed, it would have been quite a job for a cobbler to add the buckle loop tabs given the bag's fabric lining (if indeed it has one). Modifying a strap though would not be a problem even one with snaps at the ends. As I mentioned earlier though, I would have coordinated the shape of the ends to agree with the tabs and trim of the eyed side of the strap.

Since fake Italian Madisons don't turn up often, I thought it appropriate to share this one.

New Member so if this is posted wrong or in the wrong place I apologize.
Bought on e-bay for Niece, took to 2 Coach stores (1 outlet, 1 retail). They no longer authenticate yadda, yadda but hint, wink, nudge it is fake. Returned SNAD and seller is adamantly insisting (quite convincingly) it was bought by her at a Coach store in 2008. If it is authentic I would like to close the return and just let her keep the bag and money for inconveniencing her. Any help is greatly appreciated. Link to closed/sold e-bay listing is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Mini-Purse-Blue-And-White-/152168474041?nma=true&hash=item236df2a5b9:g:~s4AAOSwbYZXY10Q&si=lSQ6d53kUtIwKemhMF8BLFr8vsg%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 ....not about the money. The ones that INSIST it is real and they bought it at a Coach store in order to fight the return, that are lying really get to me. Most simply accept the return and walk away and if I am going to fight it any harder I would like some sort of info to back it up as it is a "wristlet" I guess without any style # that I can find. Again, if I did this incorrectly please delete and accept my apologies. I will learn the purse forum etiquette as quickly as I can...LOL.View attachment 3454389

What you said about the reaction of the Coach employees is just one reason why we warn and even beg buyers, collectors and sellers to NEVER take any Coach product to a Coach store. Their employees are not only NOT trained to tell real from fake (especially over a 50-plus-year period of handbag production!) but we've heard thru multiple sources that if anyone admits that they bought a bag or other Coach on Ebay, the employees are instructed to say it's fake even if they think it might be genuine.

As for the bag, it's a Pouch style, not a wristlet, and absolutely genuine. A picture of the inside would have been a help but we don't really need it. Coach's style number was 40513 and it was called a Lozenge Stripe Top Handle Pouch. Below is a photo of another one of the same style, which I believe is from 2007. There was also at least one matching handbag and smaller accessories such as scarves.

Thank you @BeenBurned for the style names & numbers,

The Heart & Star fob was probably used. The metal itself wouldn't tarnish since it was either nickel or steel.

That is outstanding! Thank you so much, most protests ring hollow but this one was so convincing I felt the need to push and looked for hours before finding you wonderful ladies. I am more than relieved it turned out to be authentic. Thank you for providing this forum as my brain was getting quite twisted trying to figure it out myself.

It's really too bad you accused the seller before getting accurate and dependable information.

If the seller's account was dinged as a result of the snad dispute, please call ebay to try to get the ding corrected.

eta: for less than $11, it looks like you got a new (or very lightly) used pouch.
