This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

It is really hard to tell with these but I think you are right. We've seen many fakes of this style. The flap comes down too far and the lining does look off. The sewing of the lining next to the zipper looks sloppy and the piecing of the edging is also sloppy. I also think the corners are too rounded. I can't tell if there are indentations in the back of the turnlock. If you have them both next to each other, the differences are probably easy to see. I can't remember if I've seen any authentic versions of this that have the logo in the bottom corner.

The black one is authentic. If you need to open a SNAD case on ebay, I would include side by side pictures to show what makes it fake.

Thanks Whateve. Happy Friday. What should I expect from eBay? If I had to send it back, is it appropriate to mark it on the inside as fake?
I will say, it washed up beautifully.....but I'm not wasting anymore lotions and potions on this one!

Could someone please authenticate this Coach belt?
Yeah, another one…from local thrift.
Thanks in advance!View attachment 3437096View attachment 3437097View attachment 3437098

Approx. 7.75"w x 4"h x 1.125"d closed. 7.75"w x 12"h open.
Any info is much appreciated…thanks again!

And last for today…could someone authenticate this MFF Coach bag?
From a local thrift…for my grand-daughter.
Approx. 7"w x 4.5"h x 4"d. Strap 4" to rings.
A demi pouce of some sort. Is there a style #?
Thanks!View attachment 3437105View attachment 3437106View attachment 3437107View attachment 3437108View attachment 3437109
All are fine.
Thank you so much!! I wish I knew where to find more of those side by side photos to tell authentic from fake. I've gotten a bit better with leather but the patterns and patchwork make me paranoid. If I could even find pictures of retired styles from Coach, like Vera Bradley has available, that would help a ton. Thank you for the help!
I can't view pinterest because I'm not signed up but be careful; there are plenty of guides out there that aren't accurate.
There are many side by side comparisons in the Authenticity questions thread here: http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/answers-to-authenticity-questions.94198/
Again, the more trustworthy posts are later. We've learned more as time goes on.
For pictures of older styles, you can check out the Wayback machine here: https://web.archive.org/web/*/coach.com
It takes a lot of patience because many pages don't work.
You can also look through our reference library here: http://forum.purseblog.com/forums/coach-reference-library.114/
For vintage styles, check out the rehab club and the vintage chat thread, both in the clubhouse section of the forum:
http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club.833400/
http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/vintage-coach-photos-chat.857690/
For other styles, do a forum search with the style name or number. You might find a reveal that will show details.
Just a note: Every side-by-side comparison I've posted are images I've created usually using one of my own images of my known authentic items as the "genuine" version.

A lot of guides do show various parts of bags (creeds, hardware, etc.) and many they call fake are authentic and many they call authentic are fake.

ETA: As an example, the following is a guide that has bugged me for years. There are several mistakes. There's one creed she claims is real but was attached to a fake bag. (That creed is fake.) And there's another 2 creeds down that she claims is fake with a fake bullseye. (That creed is genuine.)

Don't mention that you washed it. You aren't supposed to alter anything before you return, which would include marking it as fake. Open a not as described return and include in your description why it is fake. Mention that you had it authenticated and were told it is fake. It's possible the seller will accept your return right away or refund you and tell you keep it. Don't close the case until you have gotten all your money back. If the seller doesn't agree to the return, you will have to escalate. You have to wait about a week to do that. If you have to escalate, you can add more information and pictures to bolster your case, but ebay isn't in the authenticating business so unless the seller can prove it is authentic in some way and ebay decides to listen to him, you will win your case. If you want to make sure, when you escalate, call ebay and keep them on the phone until you get someone to make a decision.

In fact, this is the AUTHENTIC creed that jtjagrucker describes as a fake.

I've been watching that seller's items and although the fobs are unusual, I haven't seen anything that raises red flags regarding authenticity.

I don't believe there's shill bidding on her items. This bidder does have a lot of bidding history with the seller but I suspect it's a reseller/collector rather than a shill.

Thank you. I was thinking the same. It is hard to tell on keychains since there are so many collectors that bid of a bunch of items. I was really surprised at how much that jeweled heart got bid up. I remember buying that on clearance at Macy's.

Ooh, you got the convertible clutch! It is authentic. I'd like to see how you tackle rehabbing it.
The other one looks fine but I don't have it in my files.

Style 6137 is a Greenwich Satchel
