Hey ladies! Got a couple more oldies today, mind looking them over? Thanks in advance

-First one is a British Tan made in NYC bag. No 029-0816
-In my possession
-Notes: measures approx 11x8x4. Inside flap zip pocket, zipper has turned silver. Buckles on both sides of straps where they attach to bag.

----
-Second bag is a black bag (City bag?), made in US No. 0620-040
-In my possession
-Notes: Measures approx 11x7x3.5. Bottom of creed line a little wiggy, not sure if that's a bad sign or not?

Both look good. The first is a spectator bag #9795 from around 1987. The second is a city bag from the late 80s/early 90s. I've seen squiggly lines on creeds before.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach belt?
Yeah, another one…from local thrift.

And last for today…could someone authenticate this MFF Coach bag?
From a local thrift…for my grand-daughter.
Approx. 7"w x 4.5"h x 4"d. Strap 4" to rings.
A demi pouce of some sort. Is there a style #?
Thanks!View attachment 3437105View attachment 3437106View attachment 3437107View attachment 3437108View attachment 3437109

I've been searching and found a few pins on Pinterest that shows side by side comparison on the patterns.

ETA: http://pin.it/63oMK00

There's a lot more to determining authenticity than if the pattern is aligned correctly (especially with wallets!). Often the details of the creed and serial number are what's really important when the fakers manage to get the other details right, which they manage to do a LOT on newer styles. A bad pattern or stitching can maybe indicate a fake, but the "correct" pattern or stitching can never prove something's genuine. And a few pattern styles like the Signature Optics and a handful of others will NEVER have C patterns that match on both sides. Like the one at the top of this post

And please DON'T use Pinterest as a source of accurate information, I've seen fakes on every single page I looked at featuring Coach items. Some pictures even link to fakes-selling sites that have already been shut down by Coach Inc.

If you want an (almost completely!) accurate set of Guides to what to believe and not to believe about Coach bags, start with the six Salearea Coach Guides posted at Ebay, especially the one on so-called "Authenticity Guides":
http://www.ebay.com/gsr/i.html?uid="salearea"
Ah you are all so helpful! I definitely was looking for a guide or a list of codes and was convinced I'd find it on the forum. Thank you so much for saving me all the search time! I'll study the guide thoroughly!

There's no list of codes as such because a code list STILL doesn't prove a bag is genuine. It's having the correct numbers and codes in the correct fonts and for the correct months, years and plants that prove or at least strongly indicate something is genuine. Apurse can have all the "right" numbers and still have the wrong font.

There's no simple way to authenticate a Coach, regardless of what some of those smug, self-anointed "experts" seem to think, or want others who are paying them fees for their bad advice to think.

It is really hard to tell with these but I think you are right. We've seen many fakes of this style. The flap comes down too far and the lining does look off. The sewing of the lining next to the zipper looks sloppy and the piecing of the edging is also sloppy. I also think the corners are too rounded. I can't tell if there are indentations in the back of the turnlock. If you have them both next to each other, the differences are probably easy to see. I can't remember if I've seen any authentic versions of this that have the logo in the bottom corner.

The black one is authentic. If you need to open a SNAD case on ebay, I would include side by side pictures to show what makes it fake.

Ooh, you got the convertible clutch! It is authentic. I'd like to see how you tackle rehabbing it.
The other one looks fine but I don't have it in my files.
