Hi what's the difference between style 5130 & 9927? They both come up as Willis on ebay. Is one style fake?
These two styles are commonly confused and misidentified. #5130 is a Large Shoulder Pouch (aka Station Bag), whereas #9927 is the Willis Bag.

Basic differences: Station Bag is smaller (9"x9"x2-1/2"), has an exterior gusseted pocket in front of the main compartment (but is also under the flap), and the removable strap attaches to D-rings retained by leather loops that are sewn onto the sides of the bag.
Willis bag is larger (10"x10"x3"), has an exterior slip pocket on the back, and both the handle and removable strap attach to shackles fastened through the dowel rod that's integral to the flap.

Below find pictures showing a brown Station Bag and a black Willis Bag for comparison.

I found a vintage coach bag today but wasn't sure if it's authentic. Are all bags with this hardware fake? View attachment 3436871

Most likely they are fake because Coach never used hardware like that. However, there is small possibility that someone replaced the hardware on an authentic bag with another brand of hardware.

By the way, it isn't true for the square shaped turnlocks that Coach uses. Those do have the depressions on the back.

There's no problem with the hardware on the black one.

Thank you! So they should definitely not have prongs like the pic above. Sorry I'm new to this. Just trying to learn as I haven't seen the back of the authentic turn lock in person and it's kind of hard to tell when I'm not very experienced.
I'm a fan of side-by-side comparisons because they make it much easier to see the differences.

Both pieces are authentic.

And last for today…could someone authenticate this MFF Coach bag?
From a local thrift…for my grand-daughter.
Approx. 7"w x 4.5"h x 4"d. Strap 4" to rings.
A demi pouce of some sort. Is there a style #?
Thanks!DSCF3071.JPGDSCF3072.JPGDSCF3073.JPGDSCF3074.JPGDSCF3075.JPG

Thank you so much!! I wish I knew where to find more of those side by side photos to tell authentic from fake. I've gotten a bit better with leather but the patterns and patchwork make me paranoid. If I could even find pictures of retired styles from Coach, like Vera Bradley has available, that would help a ton. Thank you for the help!
I've been searching and found a few pins on Pinterest that shows side by side comparison on the patterns.

I can't view pinterest because I'm not signed up but be careful; there are plenty of guides out there that aren't accurate.
There are many side by side comparisons in the Authenticity questions thread here: http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/answers-to-authenticity-questions.94198/
Again, the more trustworthy posts are later. We've learned more as time goes on.
For pictures of older styles, you can check out the Wayback machine here: https://web.archive.org/web/*/coach.com
It takes a lot of patience because many pages don't work.
You can also look through our reference library here: http://forum.purseblog.com/forums/coach-reference-library.114/
For vintage styles, check out the rehab club and the vintage chat thread, both in the clubhouse section of the forum:

For other styles, do a forum search with the style name or number. You might find a reveal that will show details.

Hey ladies! Got a couple more oldies today, mind looking them over? Thanks in advance :)

-First one is a British Tan made in NYC bag. No 029-0816
-In my possession
-Notes: measures approx 11x8x4. Inside flap zip pocket, zipper has turned silver. Buckles on both sides of straps where they attach to bag.

----
-Second bag is a black bag (City bag?), made in US No. 0620-040
-In my possession
-Notes: Measures approx 11x7x3.5. Bottom of creed line a little wiggy, not sure if that's a bad sign or not?
