Could someone please authenticate this Coach Leatherware bag?
From GW last weekend…the rain finally let up enough to shoot photos :)
Approx. 10"w x 9"h x 4"d. Strap 14.75 to buckles.
I'm stumped for a name and style #. Guessing 80's-ish?
Any info is always appreciated…thanks in advance!

Genuine Classic Shoulder Bag, style 9170

Any and ALL purses called "Sportcoach" or "Sportscoach" HAVE NO CONNECTION AT ALL TO COACH. They're cheap wannabes made in Korea and ripping off Coach's brand name.

If there's a way to report fakes or fraudulent listings at that FB page, please do so. And post this Ebay Guide link as proof, "Sportscoach" items are listed as Always Fake about halfway down the page. You should also save the link for reference.

You're welcome. We always consider that hardware can be replaced so if that was the only thing wrong, we wouldn't have said it was definitely fake. I wonder if it ended up at the outlet because someone in Goodwill recognized it as fake. Goodwill has a corporate policy supposedly to not sell fakes but the individuals running the stores haven't all gotten the message.

I don't know if the managers in Maryland are aware of this policy. I've found bags with a US made creed and a small white 'made in China' tag sewn in the lining, and pointed it out (not on par with y'all, by far, but c'mon...) and was shrugged off for pointing it out.
I find lots of authentic designer bags (thanks to TPF, for verification) in GW and at Estate sales, and I don't mind buffing them down & re-dying, etc...
You ladies have made it possible for me to clean & refurbish a few for my own personal use, and to keep my new business going!

I've gotten similar responses. They'll tell me, "we aren't selling it as authentic" or "we don't claim to know."

While it frustrates me to no end that they make no effort to check the legitimacy of items, I've also used it to my advantage. This was one of my recent finds, authentic Chanel glasses (for which I'll have lenses made in my prescription) for under $10. I knew they were authentic but was told by the store manager that "of course you know they're fake, right? They'd be a lot more expensive if they were real." I took the glasses and ran!
