Hello! I'm hoping someone will be willing to authenticate this Coach Taft bag. Thanks in advance.

Item: Coach Black Taft Bag
Listing #: ?
Seller: GoodGirlVintageGoods
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/3980024...cat_gallery_14
Comments: Creed pictures weren't initially included in the listing. Seller did send them at my request.

CRIKEY.

There's such a thing as pictures being TOO big.

And the Etsy listing isn't coming thru as a working link so parts of it have been shortened and are missing. Right now the creed photos are crashing my browser.

Is this the Etsy link?

Please wait while I shrink the creed photos.

I think this is smaller:

Both are genuine. The second one is actually a Pocket Purse, not a Penny.

I'm declaring myself officially stumped, there's no catalog photos I can find but I don't have as complete a collection as I'd like either.

But - someone asked about the same style in March of 2015, and we couldn't find a name for it then either. So if anyone has some old late 1980s- early 1990s catalogs and wants to spend a few minutes trying to find it, we'd appreciate being able to finally attach a name to it. Right now it's just in my Vintage files as "unk_late-1980s-maybe Lightweight_10x10"

Here's the other one, we tried to ID this one here but no luck:

Yep, same bag, only this one is more stuffed at the top so the flap does not lay quite the same.
Thanks for the info and authentication!

Someone posted this on the FB page - yay! Mystery solved. From 1978.

And to make things even more interesting -

Everyone, all together, "The only consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency"

Rinse, repeat.

Coach RE-USED the same style number 9605 in 2004 for a Hamptons Leather Small Carryall:
(and to confuse people even more, they used exactly the same names in 2005...Hamptons Leather Carryall and n Hamptons Small Leather Carryall for 2 different styles with 8A70 and 8A71 style numbers. Doncha just LOVE it ?!?!)

Seller: amys_luxuryleathers

Comments: Everything looks good to me, but the seller has a pretty new account. The color is a lot lighter than other hunter green bags I've seen pictures of, but color is hard to judge just based on pictures.

The actual color will be closest to the full-length picture #3 shown on the manni.

The bag seems genuine but the lighting and background is lightening the color a LOT. I don't know what kind or intensity she's using to light it, but the white walls are also helping to wash out the color. The only green shade available for the Court Bag in April 1995 was Bottle Green.

Good day, ladies! Can you tell me if this one is legit? Thanks :D

- Pocket Purse C8N-9755

- In my possession

- Approx. 9.5"x6.5". The clips are a different style than the usual claw I've seen, but maybe Coach used both kinds?
