I haven't seen this before, Brennamom. It looks like Bargello needlepoint, rather than woven BV leather. That nameplate doesn't look right at all.

Have you seen it previously?

No, never. The pattern caught my eye, but I agree, the nameplate gave me pause too. Maybe someone else has seen this pattern, but the lack of the control tag worries me too . Thanks!!

See my previous post on this. It may be authentic. The 2006 Resort collection had this style. The original retail was $960, and seller wants $1200!

Thanks, boxermom! You are right that making the letters for links would probably be more expensive and time-consuming than a counterfeiter would want to duplicate, though I have been told that some of the fakes are very good. I am on a mission to identify fakes, and learn to identify the authentic - especially those I have not seen. I see more and more fakes popping up in the last few days.

This wouldn't be the first seller that wants more than original retail...

Tell me about it! I saw a BV canvas bag from 2 yrs ago that retailed for about $700 and on Portero an auction is over $900!!!

I actually have this bag!!! I can check out the tags, etc and report back.

This auction is ended and sold????

Has seller relisted several times?

I have been seeing this fake version of the old Ball bag with the same awful tag and font for at least a year. Someone left a boatload of them to be resold. They all have the same wrong shape for a ball bag, too. I think they have all been Ebano. It appears this is the one time this seller has sold one. There are a lot floating around.

I agree with boxermom... something doesn't look right, but it could be authentic. The font doesn't look right for recent, or older vintage, but could be slightly older when the font was non-serif form for a short period of time. We need more pics to determine. Ask the seller for clear pictures of the interior, the authenticity tag - front and back, the zipper pull, and the interior of the zipper pocket.

As with many of the fakes being listed, they are not removed even after I file reports (as I did on this one), gro3602. I cannot guarantee that only one seller is distributing these bags - I have seen several sold - but as boxermom has suggested, someone put a lot of these - in dark brown - in the pipeline. This particular bag was listed earlier, and the auction was cancelled by the seller due to an error in the listing, and then relisted - and sold for $550.

There are also several of a drawstring fake - in several colors that is being listed:

I have filed reports on these too, but to no avail! Ebay, needs to check these complaints!!!! We need your "power"!!!
