babyhart, the Veneta looks authentic to me. The pics of the tags and the font are not too clear, but the allover look is good to me and the seller has an elaborate description, most fake-sellers don`t even bother.

Jackyc, your second link somehow doesn`t work. I`m no expert for bracelets, but I have never seen this small dangling charm (not the round one that every Knot bracelet has, but the other one) Any other opinions?

I don't know about the bracelet but I think (but am not 100% sure) the Seller had a questionable BV wallet for sale a while ago. Unfortunately all the items in their feedback as Seller are private so I can't check - that in and of itself makes me wonder as well.

I've purchased two clearly authentic bags from BlueFly - a carmino Montaigne and an old petra flap top satchel. A lot of others have also got good BVs fro BlueFly. There is a post in the other authenticate thread, however, about a Cruise 07/08 wallet with a really strange BV stamp and then doreenjoy's post above about another wallet from Cruise 07/08 that has me worried... I would really like to get to the bottom of that issue as it makes me somewhar uneasy about BlueFly without some sort of explanation.

It's interesting that the seller does not say if this is new or used. The dust bag shown is a few years old. This bag looks like it's trying to be a Cabat, but isn't. I am uneasy about this bag but perhaps some of our very informed members will know if this is a legitimate BV style and if the bag is real. I would have to know if it's new or used. Sorry I'm not more help, Vicky. (Welcome!)

To boxermom, BookerMoose and c_24, thank you so much for your opinions. I'ts quite funny that sometimes it's easier and safer to buy from eBay outside of my country, the Philippines, than in here because of the buyer protection if paid by Paypal. In my country, Paypal payment is not common so the only way to trust a 1st-deal-seller especially on high-valued transactions is through meet-up to inspect the item or by cash-on-delivery which she won't do. This seller is a little bit rude and hideous. If she's difficult before the transaction, how much more after payment of at least US$1300 for a problematic item? Regards, Vicky

^I completely agree with you. As lovely as 1300 for an authentic Cabat might be, there is no way you should deal with questionable authenticity and a rude seller.

You`ll find your steal soon!

I hope no one reads TOO much into my wallet experience. I was probably 90% sure it was authentic, but there was something "different" in the feel of the corners. If I hadn't spent so much time fonding those wallet at the BV boutique, I probably wouldn't have noticed the slight difference. The blind stamp looked good. I couldn't find the authenticity tag -- I looked for it to get you guys to give me an expert opinion.

I'm sure even BlueFly can get fooled by fakes from time to time.

^^I don't have a ball - so maybe someone that does can give you the 411.

Q. I didn't realize the ball bags had a central seam? Have they always had this?

I didn't see this Q answered earlier. The old Ball has the center seam and a center zip divider section inside. The new Ball doesn't have the center seam and it has no inside divider. Instead, the new Ball comes with a zip pouch that can be removed. The SA at Saks told me the insert is removable "in case you want to use the bag like a tote."

Many of us BV girls have purchased from BlueFly, no problems with authenticity. I think quite a while back there was some issues, before they start including the security tag, that unscrupulous people were buying items then returning fakes, but I have not heard any problems recently. I bought two BV satchels, a couple of card cases, wallet, a sloane that I returned only because the color was too light. The only thing I would do is carefully look it over for what I would term handling issues since my guess is they are overstocks from other stores. Other than that I think you are really safe for authenticity.

I recently purchased a nero veneta & it seems to be authentic. The leather smells right. My only question is the leather supposed to be kind of squeaky when the bag moves? I'm sorry for the absurd question!!

There is NO way this is a two year old bag - or the sleeper bag is not original. BV has not used the slogan printed on the bag in a LONG time - and I am not sure it was ever printed on the bags. The leather also doesn't look right to me - kind of plasticky and it looks wrinkled in a couple of places, too. I would avoid this auction.

Hello - well first a thank you. I did end up getting two bags that you all helped authenticate and they are fabulous. I wanted to see what you thought about this one - an older one I think (and thank you in advance).
Best regards - Jacqueline
