Baggiana- Hi, That bag is from the fall '07 season, it is quite large, cervo leather , but I think it is treated or coated so it is not as soft as say a Cocker bag is in cervo.. a hair on the heavy side.. the bag has a shorter braided handle so if you put it over your shoulder it can be very tight...the retail was $2980, so the price is fabulous..great color, great bag for the $..

WOW! I cannot thank you enough for the detailed information, prestwick! Now, I really feel like I can make a good decision! This is such a great list!!!

CHUBBY- OMB that bag is gorgeous.. Great color for spring/summer! I remember it from a couple of years back. What are the dimensions? Congratulations!! Great find:tup:

Hi Prestwick--

Yes, it is lovely--the pics don't do it justice, but I didn't think it was right to show action shots for authentication!:p

It measures about 12 x 17 inches flat, but definitely slouches A LOT, so maybe 17 x 12 on my shoulder?

I'm taking her to FedEx for the BV spa treatment tomorrow (to fix the strap), but I will post pics when she returns!

Thank you all again!!

Kate

Wow--that is a beautiful bag! I have a similar one with the braided handle and I was worried that it would be uncomfortable, but it is surprisingly comfy and doesn't dig into my shoulder at all. Plus I kind of like hand carrying it so I can look at it, dork that I am.:shame:

Just FYI--I was just over in the Fendi forum and the ladies there seem to think this seller is selling a couple of fake Spys. I am no good at all on authenticating Fendi, but I wanted to make you aware in case you were thinking of bidding.

^I`m not good at authenticating Fendis or Pradas either, but I had a weird feeling about those two brands in her collection, too!

Apart from the fact that I`ve never actually seen the models, the leather looks off to me.

I didn`t dare to say the BV was fake, too, but I`d be cautious.

I think it looks legit just from the pics but as everyone said, the legitimacy of the seller may be a different story... why not send him an email and ask? Say your friends have questions about the Fendis you are selling which is why you aren't so sure about the BV. If it's from their personal collection, it may be possible to have both fake and real bags...

Thanks all for weighing in on the other bag! I did ask him a question, and he confused it with a Balenciaga at first. Perhaps he was distracted by the Fendi discussions. I checked the forum, and just felt it was safe to wait until the other issues were resolved. Besides, I want to carry the bag on my shoulder...

In the meantime, I found something else that I like, and would appreciate it if you could tell me if this one looks authentic to you. Does anyone have this color, and does it look like the pictures? TIA!!!

The color is gorgeuos and the suede lining looks lovely, but I would be very wary of this seller. If you look at her feedback you will see that she has sold 2 chanel modern chain hobos within just a month of one another and it was the exact same bag she even used the same photo, both buyers left her positive feedback, which makes it unlikely that the first buyer returned it and then she just resold it.

Does anyone know where I can go to get an "official" authentication opinion on fiasco-bag. Notwithstanding the chain of events (which I won't bore everyone with yet again here...) which clearly shows the bag is a fake, PayPal after almost a full month of silence now wants me to provide an opinion "on letterhead" that it is indeed fake. I'll go check caroldiva and my poupette, which I have heard about through the eBay forum, and hope one of them at least knows BV... but was wondering if anyone knows of any other options that definitely do know BV? I somehow can't see Holts doing it since they don't even know anything about their own BV stock...

Ugh.

BoxerMoose, I am so sorry to hear that this is dragging on. On the Fendi forum they mention caroldiva.com and mypoupette.com. I cannot tell if caroldiva.com can authenicate BV, but it is worth a try. With regard to mypoupette.com, I read somewhere that they are a little slow. Offhand, they may be the only way to go. Apparently, many/most stores will not authenticate in writing on letterheads, if they will even examine the handbags. Since this is the case, ask Paypal which service they will except...

I was given the advise on this forum to handle my similar problem through my cc company. You have waited a very long time for this to be resolved. I found that as soon as my credit card took over, things moved along at lightening speed. I do not know whether it was because Paypal believed me, or whether my cc co. actually exerted pressure. My cc company only allowed me 60 days to file from the date the charge posted. Determine your date, and do not let it pass. It may take too long to get the bag authenticated, and then you are out of luck. You might want to go back and read the earlier postings with regard to this. Long story short, I got my money back, and the problem was resolved within a week. This is taking way too long. My advise is to go to your cc company, and let them take over. My heart is with you - I have still not recovered from my fiasco, and am literally afraid to bid... I come up to the edge, and ... Good luck!!!!!

Thanks Baggiana. I've emailed caroldiva to ask if she can authenticate BV because her website doesn't really suggest that. I have been trying to do what PayPal says I should be doing but it is so slow and frustrating dealing with both them and eBay since this all started that I wish I had just ignored them and gone to my CC company from the beginning. If there is indeed a time limit for making a CC claim then I'm just going to go to them now as it is getting close to 60 days after almost a month with the Seller and then a month with PayPal. Thanks for your advice. I'll keep you posted.

Oh good grief - Paypal sounds like the counterfeit seller who say they require letters from managers of boutiques stating a bag is fake in order to accept a return - and we all know boutiques won't do that! For that matter - anyone can create letterhead, just like they create fake bags. If Paypal isn't more specific about the type of letterhead why don't you give them a taste of their own medicine and draft the 'letter' they require? :graucho: But really, BM, I hope you can get the letter you need and get this resolved at last. :flowers:

I know - it seems so silly to me andI did contemplate just sending them a letter on my law firm's letterhead if all else fails... but Caroldiva has agreed to have a look for me! She doesn't usually authenticate BV but hopes she can help me out if my pictures are clear. I'm also going to call the CC company ASAP - but first I have to figure out which CC I actually used... Also not sure when I am supposed to find time to do all this when I am in all-day meetings all this week (14 hours today for example) - and why it took PayPal almost the full 30 days to even decide they need the letter. Grrr.
