Mistikat and Boxermon ..THANK YOU!!!! I was also concern since i am not familiar with the light blue color with a orange-like interior plus the lower starting price but thought the leather looks really good.

Also, I agree with Boxermom that the Sloane looks fake, especially with the leather tag hanging from the side on one of the pics.... :)

Caligal, good eye re the leather hang tag. I didn't realize there were more pix than the one that comes up when you load the auction - that is definitely a dead giveaway that it's fake! And when I said to check the bags on ioffer, I meant because it's rampant with fakes - not because there are great bags there!

I have been checking the bags at ioffer and it's not a bad idea to do so if you are thinking of buying on Ebay from an unknown seller or if there are red flags. I was pretty shocked to see the club stripe milano Montaigne in both the brown and red colourways. It looks reasonable unless you've seen or have the real bag (for instance, on the real one, the bottom is a solid weave of the darker colour but on the fake, the stripes go all the way round the bag, like they cut from a solid piece and sewed just the sides). But if I'd seen it on Ebay, I wouldn't have thought this rather limited design was being knocked off. Go figure!

mistikat is so right - definitely check iOffer before bidding even if you are confident that the bag looks real. That would totally have saved me my fiasco-bag hassle as the same pictures were on two different listings there (and, as it turns out, none of the pictures were of the actual bag being sold but a real bag instead - but seeing them on iOffer would definitely have set off the alarm bells big time). Blugenie helped point me in the right direction (thanks again Blugenie!) and I so wish I had checked iOffer first!

Was checking out the bags on iOffer and just something to share. If the title says "AAA" or "AAA+", it basically is telling the buyer that this is a fake bag. That is usually how the fakes are graded, in terms of grade, with AAA being the top quality fakes. Just beware...

An example...

Actually, if you read the text, the buyer even tells you that you are buying "AAA mirror image quality", aka "damn good fake". :)

Hello. I recently received a BV bag that was purchased from Bluefly. It looks authentic in every way, but inside the bag I found a few tiny slivers of cut leather and on the outside of the bag there were a few spots of dried glue, which came off easily with a damp cloth. Smells like fresh leather. What do you think?

I posted a reply to have my new bag authenticated to 100% confirm, however on that thread, my camera couldnt capture the different colour of the lining as well as the tag inside the interior..

So I have finally taken the pics with a better camera, hence to be assure, please double check this for me..TIA :heart:

*Is it normal to have different colour of lining like the pocket and the interior?

While Bluefly sells authentic BVs, the reason they're at Bluefly could be that they're overstock or less-than-perfect. Most of us who've purchased from Bluefly are thrilled with our bags, but it sounds like maybe you got one that had a tiny defect. I wouldn't doubt its authenticity, but it's up to you to decide if you can live with the dried glue, etc.

Hi, I just received my Ferro Sloane from BF. The bag came very well packaged, wrapped in a plastic bag, with the stuffing, cards, and dustbag seemingly brand-new and undisturbed inside. The color is perfect, it has that slight sheen of Ferro, but, I wanted to check a couple of things with you to ease my mind since this is my first non-boutique purchase and I've only seen a Sloane IRL for a few seconds trying it on in the store so I'm mostly comparing it to my Campana.

- The bottom of the bag is intrecciato (the Campana is mostly unwoven leather on the bottom)
- The zipper pull is a rounded leather teardrop, the zipper is gold/brass colored.
- there is a slight "seam" visible down each side from the base of the handle to the bottom of the bag, and another visible seam along the bottom of the bag. Could be that the weave just didn't quite cover it up. (see closeup where the bag connects to the handle)
- Bottega Veneta Made In Italy is stamped on the side opposite the zipper pocket
- There is only one visible circle outlining the magnetic closure, which is above the zipper pocket. On the side with the BV stamp, it can be felt but not seen. (it is visible on both sides in the Campana).

I don't mind if there appears to be some slight defects in craftsmanship, as long as it is authentic. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance!

jburgh, this is an older piece of BV - at least mid to late 80s, I think. My big concern would be how well the skin had held up over that time and if there is any cracking or peeling. I am not sure, but I don't think they did authenticity tags sewn in in the older bags - I think it's a fairly recent addition. It looks ok to me as a piece of vintage BV and the price isn't astronomical. Sorry I can't give you more of a yes or a no.

hovercraftier, Thanks very much for your reply and reassurance.

I'm hoping you lovely ladies can help me out, I REALLY want to get this bag and the auction finishes soon. Can you please let me know if its authentic?

I've found this one day auction below that looks to have the same pics of the zipper, external and internal pics. My guess is that this seller has stolen the pics from the other auction but I dont know anything about BV bags so am hoping you can help me out.
