I see it's the infamous '9800' - all I can tell you is that I have a smaller version of this bag and it is authentic - from the early-mid 2000s. Lovely soft leather!

I felt like it was authentic but red's are tricky; I like to compare to other pics on the forum if possible.
That's for sure - I've never been able to find a decent red right off the bat, it takes years, it seems like!

I would think so, yes. I took a quick look and so far it seems okay (would have preferred a better shot of the plaque for clarity). But I would want to see that tag.

I asked for more pics too of the cloth tag, she was very prompt in posting them. This may be everyone's HG, my only concern is that is may be fairly stiff for a good while and God didn't grace me with patience. Good luck with the auction, and who knows maybe it will pop up again.
