I'm brand new here and I was wondering if you all could help me. I purchased this black backpack at a thrift store for $8. I noticed it had the Bottega Veneta metal tag, but I wasn't sure about it's authenticity. The leather seems like a very good quality, but it does not seem to have the sewn in authenticity tag and I'm not sure if the zippers are the right style. I imagine that it is unlikely that it is real, but I just thought I would make sure. Many thanks!

Should have Bottega Veneta engraved on the buckles, and a tag inside the zippered compartment.

I want to say that this looks good; I am not a vintage BV expert, though - there are people here who are, and should be along soon to authenticate this for you.

And Brique can't be from 2010. Brique is a new color. I don't think this is authentic

That tag is very suspect / never have I seen one like that on an authentic BV! I'm not at my regular computer or I'd check that color code, but the tag (and the placement of it) doesn't look good.

This looks authentic. I have several vintage BVs. The plaque looks good and the style of "knotting" the strap is authentic.

In the late 90s BV used a sans serif font on plaques. The lining was fabric with the BV name woven. Do you have a photo of the lining? This was the era pre: TM when BV went through some tough times.
