I think this is authentic but the photo that is missing is the one of the font plaque inside the bag attached to the side. It would help if seller would provide that photo. This is a bit older bag. I imagine it came in some classic colors as well--probably Nero (black), Ebano(dark brown) and possibly some seasonal colors as well, but the bag is several years old.

Thank you. Do you know roughly how much it was retail?

Does anyone know if Woodbury outlet Bottegas are supposed to have the authenticity tag? I never knew Bottegas were supposed to have them sewn into the bag. I bought it Jan 2010 and I only just learned of this. Why does my Bottega that I bought from Woodbury have no authenticity tag??

If you bought a bag from the official BV outlet, it's authentic. Sometimes the tags are hard to find. In most bags they are found inside the zippered pocket. I've had tags sewn so deeply into the seam that the code cannot be read.

Look again ad if it still isn't visible, tell us what style bag you bought and I'll bet someone can tell you where to look for the tag.

Hello boxermom,

thank you for the reply! I still can't find the tag even though I searched it inside out. =( Could it be the tag dropped out?

Here is a picture of the bag I got. I am not sure of the style.

This is the Parma (that's the color) Intrecciato (meaning woven) Catena bag. I love this bag. I'm sure it's authentic. If the tag isn't in the zip pocket inside, then my guess is a quality control mistake was made and that's how this gorgeous bag made it to the outlet instead of the boutique.

No worries. We'll never know what happened to the tag, but it's genuine. Parma is one of my favorite purples and I adore the braided handles.

Thanks! I was thinking of downsizing my collection and perhaps selling it that's why I was wondering about the authenticity tag. Oh well, maybe its a sign that I shouldn't sell it!

Sometimes crazy things happen to authentic items. I saw a BV cosmetic case in Neiman Marcus that had the stamped font leather patch sewn on upside down!

Your bag looks exactly like the one in the catalog photo from Resort 2006. It was an expensive bag! I hope you feel better about the missing tag.

Hi,
I'm new to the Purse Forum, and would like to add a new post to the Authenticate This Bottega Veneta forums to get some help authenticating a BV vintage bag I got at an estate sale. I registered, and was activated, but when I try to add a new post, it says I'm not authorized to do so. Can you please let me know what I'm doing wrong, or if there's something else I need to do to be able to add a new post?
Thanks in advance for your help!
:smile1:
