Well, if it's fake, it's not okay for them to sell it to you, so whether or not they take returns is irrelevant. If the seller won't take the return, you can file a SNAD (significantly not as described) claim with PayPal/eBay, and if you don't get help there, a chargeback with your credit company. You do have recourse, it's just a big pain. It's a little tough with Botkier because I don't know if there is an "official" authenticator that eBay will accept. For Louis Vuitton, Carol Diva is well known. She does do some other brands - I'm not sure if she does Botkier or not. If so, you can send pictures to her and get authentication.

i just recently bid and won a botkier bag but i am unsure of the authenticity of this bag. the listing didnt mention which version it was, and while scouring the internet, i cant seem to find any botkier bag like it. after reading a lot of posts on here, i am finding out that the zipper pull is a good determination if it is authentic or not. its not like my other botkier which is a bronze metal pull with 'botkier' on it. what do i do???

shaykins, you and i are on the exact same boat. i, myself, am questioning the lining on my recently purchased turbo trigger. mine has the exact same lining and zipper pull as yours. apparently, there were botkiers made in the past without leather pulls nor ones with the logo plates.

the thing that's throwing me off the most about the one i got is the stiffness of the leather. all posts or ebay article that i've found claims that the leather is buttery soft, which is not the case with mine.

i've tried to work with the seller on this but she refuses to give me a refund since she says that as far as she's concerned, the bag is authentic since it came with a dustbag and an authenticity card. the card it came with was the botkier cardboard-y "authentic arcticle" card and not the credit-card-like one that came with newer botkiers.

seller also said that just because i am questioning the authenticity of the bag i was sold, doesn't mean it's a fake. the challenge now is this.....how do i prove that this is a fake? that the leather is actually NOT LEATHER? the only other thing that i found on the bag are small black (what seem to be) pen marks, which i would have been willing to live with, if the bag were real. i don't know if a pen mark not being disclosed counts as a SNAD.

Undisclosed pen marks are SNAD, yes!

the seller told me the bag i won is over 10 years old. mind you the listing didnt say anything about the bag being that old. the quality of the bag, to me, is too nice to be 10 years old. i just didnt feel right about it. she did say she'd take the bag back since her reputation was important to her (she only had 3 stars b/c she's a new seller) so that to me, i was like whatever. so i sent the bag back and im waiting to get my $$ back.

Hi all,
I recently purchased a Botkier Frankie satchel bag off eBay, brand new with tags, authentication card and dust bag. However, I am a bit suspicious as the zipper sticks. Also, I had the impression from descriptions on other websites that the closure was not a zipper, but a "snap-shut" closure.

I can't tell from official pictures whether there is supposed to be a zipper at all. Could someone who knows these bags or who has seen one in an official store please let me know if its supposed to be there? Any help at all would be great.

Hi beckleburger and welcome to tPF! I would try posting some pics and maybe sending one of the members who have done most of the authenticating a pm. It is a pretty quiet forum so I don't know when someone will get back to you. I personally don't know enough about botkier to answer your questions. I did look up the bag and it is very pretty, but you're right, the pictures do show a snap closure. Good luck! :flowers:

Posting pictures of the bag you received and/or the eBay listing are really necessary to answer your question. It's possible that the seller may have sent you an authentic bag, but may have identified it with the wrong name. I don't know the Frankie specifically, but pictures will help a great deal in telling whether or not the bag looks like an authentic Botkier.
