Hi! Am also (mostly) new to Botkier... how does this one look to the expert ladies? First photo is stock, others *look* like maybe the older Chocolate leather? It has the brown cotton lining, I don't see a shoulder strap, and the side pockets are angled, rather than horizontal as in the stock photo. Thought? Thanks so much!!! :flowers:

I will preface this by saying I am not very familiar with older Botkier styles, but the zipper isn't right. It is just a regular zipper pull, not the metal kind that matches the nameplate or the leather kind. The lining also looks nothing like what you would see on a current Botkier bag.

If this is supposed to be an older bag, maybe someone else here can say if they used to look that way. But it looks like this bag is supposed to be a Trigger Clyde, which is actually a current bag. I think it's fake.

Thanks, sarahsar! I'm comfortable with the lining; there are several pics of the older Trigger styles here on the sf with that brown lining... and the seller just informed me that she purchased it four years ago (I hate it when people say NWT and it's obviously older but oh well), and that the Trigger style didn't have a shoulder strap then. I'm hoping someone familiar with the older ones can chime in here? But your caution gives me pause! Thanks so much for responding!!

I don't know the older styles, so if this is an older bag, it may be different. I also noticed in the listing as you pointed out that she called it NWT, and the stock photo is of a current Trigger Clyde, which is what raised my concern, since this is clearly not the current Trigger Clyde. Hopefully someone here knows what the zippers on the original Trigger bags looked like, because that is something fairly distinctive about the current bags.

Hello all,
I had posted this on the eBay SB and wanted to post it here as well.

I had just received (this morning) the Botkier Turbo Trigger I purchased off eBay on Feb 28th. When I examined the bag, I noticed that the inside of the zipper had a cheap-looking plastic pull, while all my 5 other Botkiers either have a leather pull or Botkier stamped hardware.

The listing claimed that the bag was 100% authentic, which is obviously not the case, so I had emailed the seller, letting her know that although her listing says that the sale was FINAL, selling a NON-AUTHENTIC item, after claiming that it is AUTHENTIC, gives me the right to return the item and get a full refund.

The seller emailed me back with this....

"I am sorry you are disappointed with the bag, however, all sales are final. I described the bag at length, provided pictures and asked bidders to ask any questions first. To the best of my knowledge, the bag is authentic based on the Botkier tag inside the bag, the dust bag, the ID card inside the bag as well as the "Botkier" stamp on the hardware on the outside flap. If there were other ways that you had to "guarantee authenticity" then frankly you should have asked and I would have been happy to check and/or take any pictures.

I state that all sales are final and that all questions should be asked prior to bidding for this very reason. Again, I am sorry that you are disappointed with your purchase."

This is the first time I'm dealing with buying a fake bag on eBay.....PLEASE HELP ME, I NEED TO GET MY MONEY BACK!!!

What's my next step, do I report this to eBay?
If so, how do I go about doing that?

Thank you so much in advance for helping me out!!!

ETA: After speaking to Botkier CS, they really can't help authenticate their bags, it's against company policy. But the more I look and feel the bag, the more I am convinced that it is NOT real. The "leather" is not even leather!!! How do I go about proving that something is not leather? I am about to file a SNAD complaint on eBay, any extra advice will definitely help. Thanks so much!

I will post pics up in a few minutes.

I am so sorry to hear you are going through this! My advice to you would be to do what you've done already - post in the eBay sub-forum. The ladies there have dealt with every possible permutation of people selling fake bags and what to do about it. If you paid via PayPal, it isn't going to matter if the seller takes returns or not - the item is significantly not described and FAKE and they aren't allowed to sell fake handbags. Getting your money back can be a process, though, and you want to follow the steps correctly. That's where the eBay forum can help you out. You have recourse, including PayPal, eBay, and your credit card company if you used a credit card to make the purchase.

You may be required to have a letter from an official authenticating source stating the bag is fake. I'm not sure who would be best to do that for Botkier. Carol Diva does it for LV and other brands, and she is terrific. Very fast to get back to you. She may do Botkier also. eBay does consider her to be a legitimate authenticator.
