Hi ya beautiful people!
I need you guys' help because I'm freaking out just a tad.
I just picked up this supposedly Bleu Lazuli Vélo and the smell upon opening the package was overwhelmingly disgusting. Very chemical and plasticky? No leather smell at all. I purchased this bag in unused condition and of course I don't know how the seller stored this bag. Nothing about the bag itself screams fake to me, but DA STINK! Ew. Although, the top stitching on the tag is a bit wonky. Bag's hanging by the window now. But I need some reassurance or a huge smack upside the head from you.
If I forgot anything in my haste, lmk.
Thanks a bundle!

I see nothing wrong. The only oddity is the color code, which is associated with 2011 Nuage. But then also with a blue/red/white bazaar and a gray bag, all from S/S 2015, like your bag. So don't be alarmed based on just the color code. I've been keeping track of color codes, and sad to say that Balenciaga was not consistent with the color codes. I have seen (so many times to the point it's become normal) the same color code used on very different colors from different seasons.

I've also seen this color described as Blue Roi, but who knows. Bleu Lazuli from F season is linked below. But all the other details look right to me. If it's fake, I'm in trouble.

Thank you! Feeling a bit better already, haha.
Could be Bleu Roi, yes. I will never learn how to tell all the colors apart...
The color codes and how to read them will forever be a mystery to me.
Any idea why she's such a smelly girl?

Ears can you look carefully at the tag back IRL? Do all of the A's look identically wide with the horizontal bar placed in the same place?

@Deco , @earswithfeet it may just be my F tag paranoia but I find it very strange that there would be multiple colours using the same colour code in one year. To the best of my knowledge that hasn't happened in any other year. And it happens frequently with fake bags.
You're leaning towards fake then?
Not looking forward to dealing with VC about a return for a possible fake. Their "authenticators" don't know much...

I'm not leaning in any direction honestly. I wish I knew more about why there were F tags that were considered super fakes back in the day. EDIT, don't quote me on that, I know there were supposedly K tags that were super fakes. Let me do a bit of research. Meanwhile, trust your gut, aside from the smell you think it's OK?

Other than the smell the bag looks and feels right. It brings a certain weight, the HW is chunky and not flimsy at all. Leather feels nice and it's very well put together. No loose stitching or anything.
I would never have asked for help, if this wasn't such a stinker...
I have time until Saturday for a decision. :-s
Thank you for going on a research mission for me. :hugs:

Such a scary thought that there are still so many super fakes out there. What happened to the just plain old fakes? That's so much easier to deal with. And funny to look at, too. Haha.

Valid point. They have used the same color code on different colors in the same year, but I haven't documented it happening in the same season. In this case, your dreaded F season.

Here are two different colors using 4160 color code in 2016, though different seasons in 2016. Also 4160 color code appeared on more different colors from other years/seasons.

But note that all three of these seasons called the colour bleu acier.

Also I misspoke about one of the 4360 color code bags. The tricolored bazaar bag has a C or Z tag, not F. The other F tag 4360 has some kind of blue fabric, with gray or black leather trim, depending on what picture you happen upon.
