Hi everyone,

I apologize if I have formatted this incorrectly but I am desperate for a second opinion! Someone is selling this Balenciaga City purse — everything else seems super legit (hardware etc.) but I am perplexed by these pictures of the serial numbers (pictured above). The serial numbers clearly do not match — the top one, metal, reads 115748 which is the model number (this checks out), but the backside of the tag does not have this number on it anywhere.

I just wanted to ask for a second opinion. The seller assured me that the purse is authentic but people lie all the time haha. Is there a reason that the serial numbers don’t match?

Your instincts are correct: assuming the seller didn't mix up pictures of multiple bags, an authentic bag can not have the 1st pic tag with the 2nd pic as the underside.

Thank you! That’s what I thought — I’ve never seen a metal plate tag with that kind of backside, but I’m not an expert in these things so I doubted myself. Thank you so much for confirming my suspicions!

Hmm the tag looks like the one that was deemed fake :(

The the braiding, the nubuck, the ostrich trim, and the overall quality of the leather and raffia looks so good from the pics!
