IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please see post #1 for complete Balenciaga authentication rules. All requests must be posted in this thread. Authentications are not done via private message or in any other thread.

See the link below for examples of the photos needed and the format they should be in (clear, close up, forward-facing, no angles, right way up, no bends in tags).

A link to the listing in question is required.

It is an authenticator’s right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format. If the listing you are interested in is missing photos it is your responsibility to request them from the seller prior to posting in this thread.

Thanks and be well!

Hi! I purchased a 2003 light caramel city on EBay earlier this week and it was just sent back to the seller today after review by the Authenticator saying it was in violation of their policy under the authentication guarantee. We both are not sure why it was sent back and I wasn’t given the option to purchase anyway. The seller is a vintage Balenciaga collector who said this is 1000% authentic and to ask to verify here since she has no idea why eBay is sending the bag back to her. Can anyone confirm authenticity of this bag for my piece of mind? I plan to repurchase from the seller as I really wanted this particular bag. Thank you so much!
I'm not an authenticator, so can't comment on that.

... but I will say that the reason most of us on here likely passed on it was that the base of the back handle (on the right) looks like it's on its way to tearing and same with the front right corner?

Or maybe I'm just speaking on behalf of myself, ahahaha.

ETA: eBay doesn't do a good job at all of authenticating leather tagged/pre-2004 bags, nor does it do a good job authenticating S/S 2004 bags... or most bags, tbh - they're very picky.

No good pics of the bale and back of zipper head but my guess is because it doesn't have the silver plate. They kind of have a "one size fits all" mentality. Slight misfire on the "8" on the tag back but authentic based on what I see.
Thank you so much. This explanation really helps as well. eBay didn’t tell us anything about their reasoning besides their standard language which is frustrating. I’m glad it looks good though.

That’s also helpful info. There wasn’t any damage or possible issues mentioned in the listing, just what we can visibly see in photos, so I wonder if they also felt the condition didn’t match.

Dear authenticators,

I quickly bought this Balenciaga Box and didn't thoroughly checked the rivets before buying. Now I already received it and the bag looks legit except for the rivets (two or three out of four looks like already replaced? And the notches on these sus rivets are similar to fake bags 😭). Kindly need your opinion on its authenticity and whether I should keep the bag or not. Or maybe I replace the non original rivets with plain ones? If this bag is authentic, that is. Thank you in advance!
