Hello HHP and Kuromi,

We may be on to something. Possible label change for 2011. Kuromi, does your second care tag also have alexander mcqueen written on it? I looked through the thread and the "R" in alexander lines up with the "U" in mcqueen and the stitching of the "X"'s go in line with another post pointing out differences in real vs. fake. Can others chime in if you have pre and post 2011 scarves and have purchased them for sure sources?

Yes, both the top and bottom care tags of my scarves have "ALEXANDER MCQUEEN" on it. I don't own any pre-2011 scarves to compare to. :smile1:

I emailed AMQ last night @ [email protected] telling them my situation, attachments of my scarves' tags and asked whether they have changed the design to their care tags. They replied this morning and said Saks is an authentic dealer so all purchases at Saks should be authentic. Granted this isn't always true if someone returns fake merchandise for the authentic items that he/she bought. However, I am convinced that the scarves I have are harder to replicate compared to the skull ones.

Below is the content of the reply:

Thank God for this. I just think they changed tags from previous 2011 to present from sound of people's replies. Mine is from 2011 and it has Alexander McQueen on both care tags. It is clearly silk as well.

I just checked my 4 scarves. 2 skull and 2 fashion, all bought in 2011.
All have the same tags. Top big one says Alexander McQueen at the top then Made in Italy underneath.
Little care tag underneath has 100% silk seta soie, made in Italy on one side and dry clean only and 3 laundry care symbols underneath.

Hello Everyone,

Here is a listing I would think is fake based on the 5th photo. The "R" does not line up with the "U" as stated in an earlier post. On the otherhand, the tags seem to be inline with what most of you have. Thoughts, critics, etc. I hope the fakes are getting better.

Why do you hope the fakes are getting better? More people would be duped by them then surely?

Also the big care tag on the above auction has too many stitches holding it on. And the price is too low!

My classic skull scarf and my fashion God Save McQueen scarf, both purchased this year at Neiman Marcus and Matches Fashion respectively, both say Alexander McQueen on the second tag as well as the top one.

I have two fashion scarves from before this year (last year and the year before) - the black and white ice crack and the red and gold skull scarf - and neither of them says Alexander McQueen on the second tag. I purchased both of them through Zappos.

So my 4 scarves are half and half on the tag issue, and I don't have any doubts regarding the authenticity of any of them.

Sorry for the typo. I meant "aren't". I believe that to be fake but we were going back and forth about tagging. The tags on that scarf seem to be inline with the majority while still being fake. I hope the fakes will always have tell tell signs.

I purchased a skull scarf off eBay a couple days ago and received it today. The seller has 100% feedback and a good history of selling high end designer items... I am not feeling it is fake judging from what I have read on these authentication threads. The colour is charcoal grey, and has a Holt Renfrew tag on it. I just want to be 100% that it's authentic (I am pretty sure it is, but want to be EXTREMELY sure lol) can somebody please view my album of photos I took of it, and check it out? Thank you
