You can just report the item as fake to eBay without having to justify why you think it is. There's no reason for eBay to tell the seller anything about who or why their auction was reported to be for a fake item. And you are right luckyblackdress - we definitely do not want the scammers to get better!

That listing has been removed.

I've said this a zillion times to other people. These scarves retail for over $250. There is NO WAY you are going to get a real McQueen scarf for $30. Also a huge red flag is that the seller is selling multiples of the same item. Additionally, there is no such thing as "factory overruns" with authentic McQueen.

Hi girls,

where can I obtain a written expert advice on a McQueen scarf? I purchased a counterfeit from ebay, but the seller insists that it's authentic. He offered me a full refund, if I return the scarf, but to me that's no solution.

At least the seller is offering a refund. Will they pay for postage costs to return it and refund the original postage charge to send it out to you? If so why do you need a written expert's opinion?

If the seller is selling multiple fakes you can report him to eBay & leave negative feedback.

I had a similar situation recently when I bought what was turned out to be a fake. It wasn't too cheap at £100 and was a good fake. When I messages the seller saying why I wanted to return it the seller asked why. I replied that I owned several authentic McQ scarves & there were too many things that made me uncomfortable about the authenticity of the one she sold me. She didn't deny or confirm that but refunded me in full.

Already left neg feedback and reported it. I just struggle with myself to send it back, because imo it should be destroyed rightaway .
May I ask you where who you bought the scarf from. Mine was also about 100 GBP.

You won't believe this! I went back to eBay to check on the seller's name. I think it was the same seller actually, as I can see a negative comment for a black & red AMcQ scarf. I didn't leave feedback as although I was uncomfortable with the authenticity of my purchase I only had my own instincts to go by. However I have now left neutral feedback saying what happened. Hopefully your feedback & mine will alert other potential buyers. I feel rather guilty now that I did not leave that feedback earlier & guilty that other people have bought fakes from this buyer too. I'm very sorry.

We should stick toghether in this case. This seller is really s***s. Ask a refund, too. You can also add a comment to your feedback saying it's fake.
Fakespotters can also do an expertise...

I've already returned the scarf a couple of weeks ago & I received the full refund. I don't think Fakespotters will be able to give me a definitive answer from the auction photos. I have the same velvet scarf in a different colour & it was only when I received the eBay one and compared them that I knew it was a fake.
What are you going to do?

Don't know... The seller offered me a full refund, too. So I probably return it. But I'm afraid that all the items he/she sells are fakes. So we should certainly inform ebay.
