It's sad to hear that the Atlanta store will have to stay in their temporary digs for awhile. It really was a hassle to find the location and then find parking. Not an ideal location, even if temporary. But once you're inside, it's quite nice, and all the SAs were very helpful and friendly. It's good to know that Hermes USA is understanding of the drop in revenue, but I'm sure if the manager and employees are paid bonuses based on sales, they aren't too happy. Too bad I don't visit my sister more often, I'd keep their revenue at least at break even point!

Management is definitely understanding, ouija, and they're the ones insisting that they stay. I think they spent over a million dollars on the finishes for the temporary store, so it would definitely be a big chunk to swallow.

You just have to come back and visit your sister . . . and shop. The stock is very good, and the SA's are some of the nicest you'll find at any H. store.

I can't really say I'm surprised that so many retailers have pulled out as the timing just couldn't have been worse, and I'm sure Bulgari is kicking themselves for opening their store at Lenox.

It seems that Hermes is damned if they do, and damned if they don't. By that I mean that the mall management was a pain because of their limited hours, and if they moved, they risked losing the convenience customers. While many will make a special trip, there are also those like myself that won't. I haven't seen the new store, and while I'll probably go sometime before Christmas, it's more of a hassle, an extra stop, and I don't have Crate & Barrell to LV to Neiman Marcus right down the hall.

The ideal situation, for me anyway, would have been to see them expand into the empty store next door, but if they do move back at some point, they may be left with Phipps, and they don't get nearly as much traffic as Lenox.

Like I said, they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

Oh, I don't either, but I am feeling sorry for the SA's. They seemed more than a little depressed (and bored, of course) when I was there on Saturday. Hopefully, business will pick up with the holidays approaching.

I just think that there are too many Atlantans who think they simply went out of business (several of my close friends have said, "where are you shopping now that Hermes has closed?".) Some local advertising might be called for.

They do have designated parking right in front of the store now - no more valet, which is a good thing, since the valet parkers and I were already on a first-name basis!:D

Lily, I'm picturing the valets seeing your call pull up, greeting you, and then examining your purchases as you come out. "Oh, wow, that new GM looks great on you, and how are you liking the new wallet you bought last time?" :lawl:

Lilyhermes, you're right. I recalled the last time I was there, I was the only customer for a good hour or so and decided to hang around a bit to chat with my SA and another SA. Like you've said, hopefully business picks up for them with the holidays around the corner. At least we know for sure that you and I will play our part to keep them in business. :p

I'm headed to Atlanta in about a week and a half, and I haven't been to H since it moved to its new location. Does anyone have a recommendation on an SA? And what are the chances that anyone knows what their inventory looks like in terms of 30cm birkins? (OK, I know that was a long shot...)

TIA!!!

I wanted to give a big thumbs up to SA Tomeko in Atlanta. I have worked with him several times, including a few days ago, and he has always been very friendly, and knowledgeable. Zero attitude..... just a pleasure.

Any Atlanta girls have recs for a new SA for me in Atlanta? It is my closest Hermes store so I like to order from there by phone since I do drop in once or twice a year...I just called to order some scarves and they tell me that Brittany is no longer there. She had been SO helpful to me in the past.

bump, did hermes move to a different location? not in the mall any more?
Hermes is no longer at Lenox Mall. The "temporary" store is close by at 273 Buckhead Avenue Northeast - near Peachtree and Pharr Road. The new, expanded Hermes store is expected to open in 2013. I was just in there today looking for horn pendants (they had none).
