A sales rep told me a new leather was coming for the Mayfair this summer. I was hoping it was an alternative to croc but I'm guessing this is it.

I'd love an alternative to the croc! I actually asked Aspinal about this a couple of months ago and they said that they can only make it in stiffer leathers (like Croc print) because of the structure of the bag :crybaby: I'd love a soft version in a grained leather.

boooo, this sounds like they need an R&D team!! Surely they can figure out some other way to give the bag structure.

has anyone had a Mayfair clutch for a long time? I want to know if the croc patent cracks overtime?
I’ve been eyeing the emerald green clutch for a while now but I’m concerned the croc patent may not look good after a while if it starts cracking. Help please.

Hahah this made me laugh. I love Aspinal, but it’s not impossible to make the - very classic and done by everyone - ‘triangular top handle flap satchel’ in something other than croc embossed leather. Um. That’s so cute it’s funny.

Maybe it has to do with the way their design ‘accordions’ out, but I call foul

Not to mention that they have made it in smooth leather with a pebbled top before--that version is out in the wild!

Oh this is sooo pretty! Is it easy to get in and out of the bag while it's pinched in?

Admittedly it's not super easy. It's not prohibitively difficult but I do notice it and find it a bit annoying. The capacity of the bag is definitely diminished when it's folded in. I love the look of the bag but because of this I consider it more of a statement piece than an everyday go-to. The lottie remains untouched as the perfect everday bag for me!

So I feel kind of ridiculous about this--I just noticed on the website, if you set it to USD instead of pounds, the prices are higher than the conversion of pounds to USD. For example, the lottie is 495 pounds which is $610, but if you set the website to USD, it's listed at $700. I realize now I've probably overspent several hundred dollars with them over the last year, and I feel frustrated about it. Has anyone else noticed this? I guess I will just check out in pounds from now on.

Yeah. I've noticed the same thing. Will they let you check out with Pounds when shipping to the US?

I wonder if it has something to do with this?
