your bag is actually called "suzy hotrod".
its from spring 2007 and was made of cloud leather.

the orange color was actually called "orange sherbet" but somehow the database got overwritten by the new orange peel swatch from this season. i had an orange sherbet cloud leather messenger bag that i loved, until my daughter three up all over it. Ick. That was the end of that bag- ( couldnt get the smell out.)

You can spray it when new with a leather stain and water repellent and condition and resray it whenever it gets dry or faded if you want to keep it looking new, or you can just let it age naturally and it will get a softer, more distressed, less shiny and more vintage sort of look. Lexol is a good cleaner/conditioner.

for summer we have PLUSH leather arriving in May, then fall crunch bags arriving in July/August

The gentle wash leather was different from velvet and lenny. It was a washed leather. More shrunken and wrinkled than the others. No shone, either.

i love the lost art bag on ebay and I belive that kings20 and tiger kitty have one. Its a pretty shade of red- washed, not electric and not pink, either.

check out last seasons POMEGRANATE and this seasons SOUR CHERRY. Plus there is POPPY for summer and GARNET for Fall...

I have never seen a really good picture of either pom or sour cherry. The pom looks beautiful, but dark. The sour cherry seems to have a lot of pink in it. Are my eyes deceiving me :drool:??

Hi, I just received a Model Citizen in Amber from a Piperlime sale. The brass hardware is tarnished in several areas, while in other areas it is shiny. Is this normal for this bag? I saw photos of the same bag on this forum and all the hardware looks shiny. I'm wondering if I should return it, but I love the style and got a really good price for it (I can't exchange for another one because they are sold out).
Do you have any suggestions for cleaning the tarnish? Thanks!

pom is dark red, sour cherry is lighter. sour cherry is not pinkish, though.

roomommy, your bag is made of velvet leather with antiqued brass hardware. The finish might look slightly irregular because its bathed in an acid wash. If you dont like how it looks, I would return it. You could try carefully polishing it with brass cleaner, but needless to say, dont get any on the leather!!!

TE, would you know where I could get replacement hardware for my Mona Lethal? The one of the main rings (for the shoulder strap) is not staying closed anymore...the clasp gets stuck open. I'm afraid my lovely beaujolais ML will be unusable soon :crybaby:
