I've heard some very bad things about SKII from people working in the beauty world so I'd stay away from SKII.
Go for Shiseido...I've tried it myself (I liked it!) and have heard great reviews about it. It also offers a wide range of products for different skin-types.
If you have bad digestive system then you normally get acne on your jaw line. Skin condition needs to be treated both internally and externally.
I am using Clarins right now, and for everyone's information I am Chinese grown up in Canada, so facing all the dilemma that arose this heated debateI think most people get skin type and skin condition confused.
Skin type is purely based on genetic factors and never could be changed. Eg. If you have combination skin, which means you will always have it. You can go to a facialist and have your skin diagnosed under a woods lamp and she will tell you what your skin type is. Try whatever products you like, for as long as you like then go back to your facilist see if your skin type really changes.
Skin condition is based on environment, diet, life style and etc like some of you said. Skin condition can be changed. Eg. Dehydration and acne are both skin conditions and it reflects your internal health and external environment. If you are dehydrated then it means you are exposed in the sun for too long, too much air conditioning or not drinking enough water. If you have bad digestive system then you normally get acne on your jaw line. Skin condition needs to be treated both internally and externally. Skin type, again, can’t be changed. You only can get your dryness and your oil under control and that’s about it.
General skin care products (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) direct you with skin types, not conditions. If some people still think your skin type/structure has nothing to do with your race then whatever I guess. I've given enough examples in previous posts.
BTW, “different races have different skin” doesn’t mean I’m generalizing Asians has
I never said same race has same skin. Just so you know.
Could someone please tell me how Clarins work for Japanese, Chinese and Korean skin (I'm avoiding generalizing all asians) ?
Asian Male Here. My opinion:
I must say that I was skeptical about the Made from Earth Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer - but for the low price versus department store cosmetics, figured it was worth a try. Amazingly, it really works quite well and MY WIFE LOVES IT!
After a few weeks, people were commenting that she looked less tired, asked if she had lost weight, been exercising or on vacation. Since it works gradually over a few weeks, you notice a bit of difference yourself, but the people who don't see you that often really notice a dramatic change. Smaller wrinkles are smoothed out and disappear completely, while large ones get smaller.
It won't make a 69 year old look 20, but definitely takes off a decade of wear and tear. Oh, my wife is also asian too and it works wonders. Highly recommended.
I am also going to try the Made from Earth Rooibos Tea Face Scrub next and I will let you know how it goes.
I love Sekkisei white mask. You should give it a try. It's great for blackhead. Your face feels sooo clean after use![]()
p.s. I don't mean to offend anybody but Korea is well known for plastic surgery (probably top 3 nation in the whole world). May be that has something to do with why their skin looks so nice?
