I’m surprised you’re getting negative comments. I grew up in MA - lived my whole life there till I moved just north in 2017. I used to see LV literally every day on many when I worked in Boston. I’ve never ever had anyone say anything negative to me. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that.

I like to visit but don't usually. I think maybe because I feel like the SAs will frown at me looking but not buying. I don't know.
I have one or two friends that are into luxury goods even more than I am but I don’t see them very often. The close friends and family don’t get it.
No, not weird at all. I have the exact same experience. What bag I wear on a particular day is determined by who I may be seeing. I definitely don’t wear my luxury brands when out with certain groups of people just to avoid the discussion of how much I’ve spent.
Nobody enjoys luxury in my family and I still have to hear my husband criticizing me for wanting more bags. I don’t have anybody to talk to. At work, some ppl wear nice high end bags but nobody talks about it. I wish I had a bff who I could go shopping with and who would enjoy bags like me

Some of my friends like and and own luxury but not necessary into it and we don't really talk about it. However, I got my parents into LV and start making my girlfriend into luxury too 
My family are not into LV or designer handbags at all. Some of my friends are, some carry nice quality leather handbags and are not fussed about labels. Some of my friends have maybe 1 Chanel and 1 or 2 LV or Mulberry or Prada and that is enough for them. They carry the same classic bag for years until it shows wear and then replace. They don't know the names of their bags and find it funny that I know the names and sizes of all the styles. I don't talk about my obsession with any of them, I save that for here!

When I joined TPF I actually was on my own.
Now a decade later (I guess when not a student anymore), there are more people in my vicinity who like luxury goods.
Funnily more men then women, though the men are not only into bags, but also clothes and cars.
Some of my friends have began to appreciate LV a few years ago, but they own only a few pieces and are not so bag/fashion crazy as I am. Some friends still don‘t understand my passion for bags. But I guess everybody has different priorities.
My mom initially was shocked about my bag collection, but now has started to appreciate is, especially as the bags I own hold their value pretty well and she noticed that I am picking the pieces careful and am not randomly buying stuff which is just popular.

There is a tap for tpf meetups up at top. Click on and post there. I’ve talked to a ton of people recently from California so I would imagine there’s got to be a bunch of people in your area! I’m in Massachusetts and I don’t really know where the people I’m so excited there’s about four people that responded LOL I don’t feel so alone on my little island anymore!
I visit my local LV store VERY often, probably at least twice per month. The sales people know me quite well and seem to like when stop by just to look around. They are all very friendly and do not mind if I look at handbags even though I am not going to buy one that day.I love to look at all of the new handbags that come in.
