I agree with the above
The whole made in China thing is a tough one.
People want a living wage here. Necessary. However, we have become accustomed to a higher standard of living in the US. So it takes more to cover a living wage.
Some companies might go out of business, or have to charge insanely high prices (and then go out of business lol) if they continued to manufacture in the US. Hmmm. It's a complex situation. I think more of a global thing....
I think about this, in regard to all products. It would be very hard to avoid anything made in China. However, I think about those workers and I feel bad. (The ones that are mistreated that is.) i have no idea how it is for all of them. I saw a documentary about this, and they showed people working and living like slaves. They recruited young people to work in these factories, and after working all day and all evening, they went to packed dorms to sleep in little beds. Most all of their life revolved around working in these factories, for peanuts.
Now, I have no idea if everything is like this....it was simply shown in a documentary. However, I hope for global change in which people are not treated poorly in the name of commerce.
Also, I am not saying everyone that works in factories is mistreated or enslaved.
Anyway, in the US, people are accustomed to owning homes, cars, only working 8 hour days and 5-day weeks, having health insurance, etc etc etc. I certainly support this - but the other countries don't have this and that's what we are competing with.
